CLARIFLOTE™ - Tonka Water
CLARIFLOTE ™ Clarification and Filtration Two-Stage Treatment Upflow Clarification and Filtration Tonka Water’s ClariFlote™ treatment system combines upflow clarification and filtration in a high-performance, compact footprint. We’ve combined buoyant media clarification with our industry leading Simul-Wash™ filter backwash system to produce a simple, highly efficient package treatment system. Our ClariFlote™ can treat the most challenging waters while conserving backwash waste. It solves difficult treatment issues including removal of color and organics while minimizing energy, chemical use, and wastewater. The time-tested technologies of clarification and filtration meet the flexibility and simplicity of the treatment system to create this optimized treatment unit, customized for your specific needs. ClariFlote™ is designed to handle a variety of water sources, and meets all USEPA and Ten States Standards for potable drinking water. Advanced Technology AUTOMATIC CONTROL ClariFlote™ can be used in many different treatment process configurations. Whether discharging to a clearwell or pumping directly into the distribution system, we will customize and provide the controls required as well as any other control enhancement features desired. The ClariFlote™ packaged surface water system combines high rate adsorption clarification with mixed media filtration. A buoyant adsorption media bed provides clarification to significantly reduce the solids passing through to the filter bed. The clarifier is periodically flushed using an air/water combination to remove captured solids and maintain optimal efficiency. The mixed media filtration then removes the remaining solids. The mixed media bed consisting of anthracite, sand and garnet produces consistently excellent effluent quality. Tonka Water Guarantee Tonka Water provides the best custom manufactured water treatment systems in the industry. Our people will deliver excellent service and support for your project from conceptual and cost-effective design, to construction and commissioning; and throughout the system warranty and operational life of the project. We guarantee it. Thousands of quality water treatment installations since 1956. Advantages Simul-Wash™ Filter Water and Media Conservation • Media loss prevention under 1” per year • Raw water backwash used for clarifier • Simul-Wash™ backwash process consumes half as much water as a conventional backwash Low Installation/Operating Costs • Space-efficient, modular units • Minimal operator attention required • Low maintenance required High Performance and Operating Flexibility • High solids capture leads to extended filter runs • Handles turbidity spikes up to 100 NTU • Tolerates upstream variation in flow rate and raw water quality Proven Design • Multiple underdrain configurations available • Over 300 individual Tonka Water filters utilizing the Simul-Wash™ process • Effectively treats water with influent turbidity spikes up to 100 NTU for potable drinking water The flow from the clarification compartment is routed and uniformly distributed into a gravity filter. The filter incorporates an airwash distribution system and Tonka Water’s Simul-Wash™ backwash system. The Simul-Wash™ utilizes collapse-pulsing backwash technology by combining air and water at subfluidized flow rates, independently verified as the best way to clean a filter bed.1 The specially designed Simul-Wash™ system allows the simultaneous air/water backwash cycle to be performed indefinitely without the loss of media. The unique collapse-pulsing backwash system extends filter runs, lengthens the useful life of the filter media, prevents mudballs, and frees nearly all captured filter debris, all while using 50 percent less backwash water than conventional systems.
