Many struggle in the classroom and beyond because of a learning disability. These problems may manifest themselves in a number of ways: poor test performance, difficulty telling time, poor motor coordination, slowness in completing work, poor memory and impulsive behavior. We started out with a budget of $5,000 in 1993. In 2002 there was a staff that included me and a part-time secretary and a budget of $130,000. By 2008 the budget hit $1,000,000. In 2012 we helped more than 29,000 children, parents and teachers and provided more than $326,000 in low to no-cost services to the community with a budget of $1,273,382 and a staff of 32. Since our inception, we have seen a total of more than 190,000 children, parents and teachers. Through the years, the driving force for this organization has been a very committed Board President and a wonderful Board of Directors. In addition, our staff has developed through the years into one that is professional, motivated and totally committed to the welfare of children in our community. Without all of these fantastic people pushing to their limit, we could not have accomplished all we have since 1993. I am proud to tell you that we have a wonderful reputation in our community of looking at the whole picture of the child to develop a plan that helps that child become successful in school and in life. There are so many wonderful donors who have contributed to our successes. Some of them have been with us for many, many years and without their continued support, vision and total commitment, we would not have been able to be the agency that we are today. We wish to thank all donors, past and present, who believed that LDA could make a difference in the life of children in our area. We hope we will continue this pattern of growth over the next 20 years. We are committed to helping children reach their full potential and look forward to the challenge in the years to come. We want to thank all who have contributed time, talents and resources to help St. Louis LDA reach thousands of children each year. Together we have created an organization that truly cares about the welfare of children and how they succeed in life. — Pam Kortum, Executive Director 2012 Donors continued Leadership 2012 Donors Pam Kortum Executive Director Board of Directors Sheryl Silvey, President Tina Roche, First Vice President Pat Steiner, Second Vice President John Moore, Treasurer Danielle Slentz, Secretary Cindy Collins Daniel Godar Al Hagaman Jim Hartman Elaine Knight Katie Miller Marc Sinclair Brian Thies Scott Wren Advisory Council Ryan Blum Pam Boggeman Dr. Garrett Burris Christi Busch William K.
