CITY OF DELAFIELD PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES September 1, 1999 J. Romanowski stated that the letter that was originally going to be sent was to inform the property owners of two possible alternatives: 1. The City would build v wider street at their cost for properties on both sides, or, 2. If the people on the North side need a better driveway the City could, at the property owner' s cost, a pave the driveway. It wold remain under private ownership. that he believes it is the feeling of the people in the second option would be the route to pursue. that the properties Ald. There are just a couple of items that need to be completed, but we have withheld 5% to cover that. Scaff explained the sheet costs for the 1999 Street showing the work and costs reported that we still have a to be broken down associated with the work for each street. He balance of $26, 000 (+/-). There are some other roads that are in need of work that this could be used for. He is getting some quotes from Wolf for doing some cutting and patching on Main St. The only other road that he thinks needs immediate attention is Kemper ( by St. John' s), it is still a gravel road. The only concern is the fal; t that the road is not where the actual right- of-way is. He will investigate. Discussion continued v over the spreadsheet. MOTION BY J. OBENEBERGER TO HAVE MIKE SCAFF OBTAIN AN ESTIMATE FROM THE CONTRACTOR TO USE THE REMAINING $ 26, 000, AND TO GIVE THE ESTIMATE TO THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR BY NEXT TUESDAY FOR CITY COUNCil APPROVAL. Romanowski referenced letter/ report from June 22, 1999. report from Steve Hansen and handed out a report that contained calculations, with the second page being a drawing of the F. Welch discussed the June 22, it compares the work that was originally done and at that time it stated that there would be approximately . 046 acre feet of storage. He then passed around a photo showing the modifications that were made. He basin. He explained that stated that Welch- Hanson asked them for an as- built, and they gave them a drawing that showed about . 27 acre feet above the bottom where the water is. They indicated that the water depth was 4 - 5 feet deep, and with that it came up near the .4 acre feet. He said that Jim Romanowski asked Welch- Hanson to complete an as- built also. According to F. Welch, they have done more work there. He then referenced the second page of the report. Welch- Hanson came up with a storage volume now of only 0. 167, which is less than half of what should be there. J 4
