Hard-Surface Overlay
Here at Megawatt Machine Service, our specialty is in the
manufacturing and rebuilding of control valve components.
For the last 40 years we’ve set the industry standard in
producing congruent O.E.M. valve trim parts such as plugs,
stems, cages, seats, bonnets and guide bushings for
virtually every control valve manufacturer in all shapes and
sizes. We can reverse-engineer any valve part, new or used,
with our hi-tech CMM equipment. MMS stocks a wide range
of mill-certified metals and alloys such as multiple varieties of
stainless steel, Inconel®, Hastelloy® and tungsten-carbide.
Our in shop capabilities range from state-of-the-art CNC
machining to precision grinding to hard surfacing and
coatings such as Stellite® overlay, Ion-Nitride, heat-treating
and HVOF. MMS can apply hard-surfacing on all critical
areas such as seated and wear locations in order to extend the
user-life of your valves. This hard surface provides protection
against cavitations, flashing / erosion, vibration / noise,
turbulence, corrosion and abrasion that can so often occur.
MMS also prides itself on providing emergency services and
exceptionally fast delivery on all new parts and repairs,

Plasma Transferred Arc System (PTA) is a high energy, inert gas welding process. Argon is used for arc plasma
supply, powder transport and molten material shielding. It produces a very high quality deposit offering optimal
protection with minimal dilution or deformation of the base material. It is a process that deposits very precise
coatings of perfectly controlled alloys on mechanical parts that are subject to intense wear, significantly
extending their service life.

Services uses to create a 3-Dimensional
surface drawing or solid model of an existing
part. These drawings can then be used
to modify the existing part or to machine a
new one exactly to OEM specs. The data
