NOVASPECT OUTAGE MANAGEMENT SERVICES Your Local resource for Process reliability They’re Your Control Valves, but We Care About Them Too! Novaspect’s reputation is only as good as the reliability of the control valves we’ve placed in your plant. Novaspect Outage Management Service provides professional control valve outage management services which can remove the burden of your maintaining specialized planning staff, diagnostic testing equipment and tooling which is required to optimize outage maintenance expenditures on control valves… improving your plant performance, and maintaining our good name. Traditional outage repair scope development usually consists of documenting the valves on which operations has hung maintenance tags. These are known trouble-makers, but to what extent is repair required? Is the problem with the positioner, the actuator, the packing system, or the valve body and trim parts? Is the installed valve appropriate for the service demands? Beyond the tagged valves, which other valves could be guilty of causing a forced outage, reducing availability, or impacting plant performance before the next outage? Novaspect’s approach to outage planning is based on our understanding of the ranking of the criticality of control valve condition to these issues. Many plants have invested in a valve-mounted predictive maintenance infrastructure through utilization of Fisher FIELDVUE® DVC Digital Valve Controllers installed on their valves. Skilled valve diagnosticians utilize the power of these devices to troubleshoot and plan repair for the tagged valves. The same devices can be used to pre-test control valve assemblies, prior to, or at the outset of an outage. Imagine being able to predict which additional valves will likely fail in service before the next planned outage. Imagine that you could then prioritize your outage spend based on criticality. Imagine that you would only repair the bad component, or only replace the bad parts. The effective use of these diagnostic tools requires significant training and repetitive use of the testing process …. so-called “use it, or lose it!“ Many plants have neither the staff nor the skill-set required to accomplish specialized tasks. But that doesn’t mean you’re out in the cold because we “use it”, repeatedly. And we’re good at it. No Fisher DVC positioners installed? No Fisher valves? No problem. Through our relationship with Emerson Instrument & Valve Service we have access to the same diagnostic technology via the famous Fisher FlowScanner™ …. for any manufacturer’s control valve. Same tests, same diagnosis, same reliability. The tests are done, the repair scope is set, so now what? We can manage your workforce to implement the repairs required, or we can utilize the technical power of the Emerson Instrument & Valve Service Company technicians to do what they do best …. fix valves. It’s what we do for a living. We take care of your control valves so you don’t have to. For more information, contact your Novaspect Fisher Valve account manager. Let us prove to you that we care about your valves too!
