Thursday Notes April 2, 2015
Thursday Notes April 2, 2015 All are cordially invited to join us as we experience the crucifixion of Jesus on Good Friday, April 3rd at 3:00 p.m. The Living Stations will be enacted by our School and REP students. The Way of the Cross will also be held Downtown Chicago on Good Friday 2015 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Daley Center located at Dearborn and Washington. All are welcome. All are invited to join the school children at the regular 8:00 a.m. parish Liturgy on Wednesday, April 15th. We would like to extend congratulations to the Derendal family on winning the 1st place prize in our Tuition Raffle. They are the recipients of a full year tuition credit for the 2015-2016 school year. Our 2nd place winners and recipients of a half year tuition credit for the 2015-2016 school year is the Drozd family. Our sincerest thanks and gratitude to our school patron, Ms. Leigh-Anne Kazma for donating these generous prizes! Thank you to all that were able to join us for our last movie night of the current school year. It was wonderful to see so many of our school families and friends attend. Our net profit from this event was $401.00 that will benefit our school. I would also like to extend a special thank you to the Pavlik family and the entire School Board for their ongoing efforts and hard work. Make sure to join the St. Constance Sports Association for their Spring Luau on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. in our Handzel Center Gymnasium. Enjoy an evening of dancing to the music by DJ Cardone, catering by Dino’s and much more. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. For questions or tickets, please contact Barbara Biernat at (773) 401-4217 or [email protected]. All proceeds go to the St. Constance Sports Association. Last Sunday, March 29th, our 8th grade girls volleyball team won the City Suburban Catholic Conference Championship! Our team consisted of six 7th graders and five 8th graders and claimed the championship in two sets against the all 8th grade team, St. Mary of the Woods Blue. Saints players representing St. Constance were Grace Pavlik, Cassandra Krajnyk, and team cocaptain, Gabriela LaCour. The team was led by head coach, Robert Morioka and assistant coaches, Amanda King and Gabriella Chavez. A very enthusiastic crowd of players’ families, classmates, schoolmates, and their parents raucously cheered on the Saints to victory. Congratulations to all of you! As mentioned in a previous correspondence, the children will remain outdoors until the 8:00 a.m. bell and go outdoors for recess weather permitting. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately. Once again I need to address the safety of our students and the parking lot procedures. I am asking for all parents to please review the handbook posted on our school website regarding arrival and dismissal. Please keep in mind that if you are arriving after the 8:00 a.m. bell, you should be parking your car and bringing your children into school through the main entrance, as teachers on duty leave their post at that time. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. This is just to remind you that per the school calendar, school will be closed for spring break from April 3-12. Classes will resume on Monday, April 13, 2015. This week we would like to express our thanks and gratitude to the Slipek family for the donation of the beautiful wooden Rosary, and to the Drozd and Kisielewski families for the donation of educational books and toys. We would also like to thank the Osborn family for the delicious treats shared with the faculty and staff. They were enjoyed by all! Finally, on behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I would like to wish you and your loved ones a Happy and Blessed Easter. Sincerely, Eva M.
