Jackson beginss
his fourth year as head men’s basketball
coach of the Northern Oklahoma College
Mavericks. He led the Mavericks to one of
the best seasons in school history. The
Mavs finished the season 26-7 and ranked
#25 nationally in the final NJCAA poll. They
finished 15-3 in OCAC play, good for 2nd place
and advanced to the Region II championship
game and finished at Region II runner-up.
Jackson was also named 2016 Region II
Coach of the Year, as voted on by his peers.
In Jackson’s second season, the Mavs
finished the season 19-12 overall and
finished second in conference play at 12-6
overall, which included winning 8 conference
games in a row. In his first season, he led the
Mavericks to a 19-14 overall record and a 9-9
mark in conference play. He also led the Mavs
to the Region II semifinals.
During his four seasons at Cowley
Community College, he helped guide the
Tigers to a Jayhawk East Championship
and four Region VI Tournament appearance,
including a trip to the Region VI Championship
game in the 2012 season. He also helped
develop Big XII 6th Man of the Year Tyrus
McGee from Iowa State, Kansas State signee
James Watson, Creighton signee James
Milliken and Duquesne signee Dominique
McKoy.
SESSIONS
SESSION I ~ June 1-3, 2016
This session of the SUCCESS IS A CHOICE
Basketball Camp is for boys who will be entering
grades K-3 next fall. The session will run from 1:303:30 pm each day at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse.
Registration is due by May 23. This is a skill
development camp. Games will also be played.
SESSION II & III ~ June 6-8, 2016
These sessions of the SUCCESS IS A CHOICE
Basketball Camp is for boys who will be entering
grades 4-10 next fall. Session II will run from
9:30 am-noon each day for grades 4-6 and
Session III will run from 1:00-3:30 pm each day
for grades 7-10. The sessions will be at FosterPiper Fieldhouse, breaking down the concepts of
footwork, release point in a shot and repetition of
spot shooting, shooting on the move and shooting
off of screens. Skill work and games will also be
incorporated. Registration is due by May 30. This
is a shooting camp.
CAMP OBJECTIVES
The purpose of the camp is to teach and build
upon basic fundamental skills through repetition,
drills and league competition in an atmosphere
of encouragement and fellowship. Skill work and
games will also be incorporated. During the week
campers will learn dedication, sportsmanship
and teamwork. This facilitates the development
of sacrifice, pride, discipline and respect—all
attributes that contribute to successful athletic
competition as well as to personal growth.
Release From Liability
As parent or guardian of the camp
participant listed on the reverse side,
I am aware of the risk of physical injury
to my child as a result of participation
in competitive sports. As a condition
to my child’s participation in the
SUCCESS IS A CHOICE Basketball Day
Camp activities, I hereby release the
Camp Staff and Northern Oklahoma
College from all medical liability
arising from any injuries that may be
sustained to my child from his or her
participation in the SUCCESS IS A
CHOICE Basketball Camps.
CAMP FEES
Participation in the SUCCESS IS A CHOICE
Basketball Camp costs $65 each boy, each session
if registration is BEFORE May 23 for Session I or
May 30 for Session II & III. Cost will increase $10
for each camp after this date. Payment must
accompany your child’s application.
