By 2020, >25% of the regional precision machining
workforce will be at or near retirement age.
This will result in a more than 2,000 precision machining
jobs in need of replacement.
If trend goes uncorrected, the regional demand will
outpace the anticipated pipeline supply by two to one.
CTCs/RACC have the open seat capacity to avert this
shortfall crisis with full enrollment.

Northwest Workforce Development Board embraces the opportunity to partner
with the career and technical centers in our six-county area to develop career
pathways that will benefit job seekers while meeting and exceeding the needs
of the employers. This will be accomplished through up scaling of adult and out
of school youth and the development of a pipeline for in school youth.
Programs like Erie’s Career Street serves as a model for the rest of our region.
