Parmenter Named to BOMA’s Top 5 Companies Commercial Real Estate Investment Firm Continues Corporate Commitment to Sustainability P armenter Realty Partners was named by BOMA International to the top five companies nationwide to have reached BOMA 360 status (April 2012). The Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA) designed the program to recognize commercial properties that execute best practices in overall building operations and management, including sustainability. Of the firm’s 33 assets, 21 have achieved BOMA 360 recognition with the remaining structures pending or in progress of obtaining the accolade. This recognition is a major milestone in a series of sustainability efforts taken by Parmenter in our corporate commitment to developing a sustainable portfolio. In celebration of these achievements and Earth Day, the following charts and figures illustrate some noteworthy achievements of our firm in recent years. When BOMA named its top ten companies, Parmenter found itself in the top 5 alongside of real estate giants such as CBRE, Brookfield Properties, and Piedmont Office Realty Trust. Parmenter beat out several others in the rankings, to include Cushman & Wakefield and Hines. With 100’s of billions of dollars of assets under management by our competition, Parmenter was proud to be ranked in the top 5 by a count of buildings! We are proud to note that as a percentage of our portfolio this accomplishment is a major milestone in our continued dedication to sustainability, creating better places to work, and better assets in which to invest. Steve Harrison, Parmenter’s Vice President of Facilities and Sustainability, has been dedicated to our firm’s efforts for more than a decade. “This type of recognition supports what we’ve been doing in our buildings since the mid-80’s. It started with recycling, then energy and water conservation, and now we focus on comprehensive, full-circle sustainability,” Harrison said. Parmenter’s Chief Operating Officer, Andrew Weiss commented, “We’re grateful to our property managers and engineers who make these accomplishments possible.” We have corporate policies in place to ensure that our contractors only use environmentally friendly cleaning products We replace older lighting with the most energy efficient lighting available We use electronic ballast, T-5 bulbs, and LEDs in our properties as well as motion and UV light switches to turn off lights when they are not needed HOW DO WE DO IT?
