EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY
European University (EU) is one of the world’s top business schools recognized for
the excellence of its students and faculty. EU offers tomorrow’s leaders effective
solutions in a professional environment. Over the past 30 years, EU has developed a
business education that delivers the highest-quality teaching, a competing learning
environment and a network of several campuses in different European countries. This
broad network encourages students to participate in inter-campus exchanges in the
following countries: Spain, Switzerland, Germany, The Netherlands, Portugal,
Greece, Malta, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan and Singapore. EU offers not only the
traditional programs of Bachelor and Master of Business Administration (BBA &
MBA) but also the possibility to specialize in 10 different fields of management
education as for example Communication and Public Relations, Information Systems
Management, Wealth Management and Finance-Banking & Corporate Finance. The
first goal of EU is to bring the American education model to Europe by relating
classroom theory to professional skills. The courses are taught in English or/and
Spanish using the case study method to prevent business theory from remaining
abstract and incomprehensible. The second goal of EU is to internationalize its
programs by providing a unique environment. An international perspective is
guaranteed by the composition of the faculty and student body.

•
•
Provides quality undergraduate and graduate education in Europe since 1973.
Offers programs in business, finance, multi-media, communication and public
relations as well as other ‘state-of-the-art’ specialities using the case-study
method.
Offers all students a solid basis in essential technical areas such as accounting,
finance and marketing as well as in communication skills.
Prepares students for the global world: the environment is international: the
Barcelona campus currently has students from some 20 countries – English is
the lingua franca for studying and socialising. The teaching staff is of the most
culturally diverse to be found in Barcelona (some 17 countries)
Is an equal opportunities employer: there is an enviable balance when it comes
to the generic ratio – students receive very close to a 50:50 ratio of male-female
teachers; unfortunately this is not standard in the business school sector.
Has campuses located around Europe and students can easily transfer from
one campus to another.
We encourage students to
improve their communication
and leadership skills

VISA AND DOCUMENTATION PROCEDURES
1) Obtaining your visa before leaving your country of origin:
A) Citizens of European Union countries:
There is no visa requirement. Citizens need to be in possession of a valid Identification
Card or Passport.
B) Citizens of Non-European Union countries:
A student visa is mandatory for non-European citizens wishing to study in Spain for 3
months or longer. A student visa must be processed in your country of residence prior
to your departure. You cannot get the visa in Spain, and you cannot have it sent to you.
The visa is affixed in your passport before you depart your country, and must be
presented to Immigration Officials upon your entry into Spain.
All student visas are valid for a period of 90 days from the date of your arrival into
Spain, during which time you must contact the local authorities to acquire a student
residency card. A "Spanish Student Residency Card" is valid for as long as you are
enrolled in the program in Spain.
Due to the overwhelming demand for student visas, it is important that you allow
enough time for the Consulate to process your visa. You are required to submit the
following documentation in person:
•
•
•
•
A valid passport for a minimum of 6 months
4 recent passport sized pictures (stapled on each copy of the application)
An original letter addressed to the Spanish Consulate verifying enrolment as a
full-time student in European University in Spain, and verification of payment of
tuition. This must be a separate letter directed to this Consulate General of
Spain, verifying your enrolment and payment of tuition.
A medical certificate, which should be typed on your doctor's stationary verifying
that you are in good health, free of contagious disease, drug addiction or mental
illness. These items must be specified in the letter, and signed by a medical
doctor.
You must also submit one of the following items to guarantee living expenses while in
Spain:
•
•
•
A letter assuming full financial responsibility for tuition, room and board for the
student during their stay in Spain. For many students this information is
included on the previously mentioned letter of acceptance or
A bank certificate that proves solvency or
Proof of having received financial aid or scholarship covering expenses for
tuition, room, board, and personal expenses during their stay in Spain
(minimum of $350 per month) if that is the case.

Since the 3rd of March 2003 all European Union Citizens working or studying in
Spain (including their spouses and children), can live in Spain WITHOUT a
residency card.

If you wish to rent a flat on your own, there are some things that you should take into
account:
-
The usual minimum rental period is one year, but some real state agencies
accept short-term rentals.
The cost of the contract is generally the same amount as one-month rental
price or ten per cent of the annual price.
You are usually required to pay a deposit of two months, which is returned
to you at the end of the rental period, if no damage has been caused to the
flat.
Here below you will find a list of real estate agencies in Barcelona. You can also find
flat offers in several newspapers, especially in La Vanguardia, El Periodico, and in free
