The IGI Automatic
N, P/S Attachment for the Multilith, Model 1250
Patented US and Foreign
Numbering, perforating and scoring made easy. Why job the work out and wait,
hand-feed it one sheet at a time, or pay thousands for a free-standing or pressattached unit? Let your old, reliable, low-cost Multi 1250 do the job for you with
the IGI ANC UNIT.
CONSIDER
THE FOLLOWING:
• One-time installation (30 Minutes). Put it
on; leave it on. Does not interfere with
the normal use of the press for any other
purpose.
• No moving parts (exclusive of those in
numbering heads). There is virtually
nothing to wear out; no mechanical
replacement parts will be needed.
• Once installed, make-ready is just a matter of a minute or two (to position
impression).
• Can pay for itself in no time.
• Time-tested under normal shop conditions to provide complete reliability on
millions of impressions.
• The impression activator (see Components)
enables you to put the press on or off
impression in an instant, regardless of the
orientation of the cylinders.
• Requires no storage space.
• No other numbering system currently on
the market can match the combined features of original cost, operating cost,
replacement part cost, speed and simplicity.
• Numbering heads trip only when paper
is passing through the press, i.e., they do
not trip when the press is idling.
• Will number, crash-number, perforate, or
score anywhere on any sheet the press
will feed (Allowing for gripper margin, of
course).
• Far and away, the most reliable, lowestpriced automatic N, P/S system on the
market.
• Complete unit includes: chase, mounting
block-clamps, two numbering heads,
inkers, combination perforating, scoring
and slitting bar, assorted perforating and
scoring rules, adhesive-backed perf and
score packing (receivers), impression
activator, cylinder adjustment scale,
plastic box of accessories and complete
instruction for use.
• Turns the Multi 1250 into a high-speed
letterpress, utilizing time-tested letterpress equipment.
• Will feed stock with the acclaimed registration of the Multilith.
• No need for pre-inked pads – inking system of press provides continuous supply
and unlimited color choice.

Question: If your IGI unit is all that you say it is, why such a modest
selling price?
Answer: The IGI unit is not a numbering machine. It is an attachment that
enables your exceptionally well engineered Multi 1250 to function also as a
numbering, perforating, scoring and signature or logo imprint machine.
In other words, you already own the horse, all you need now is the
rider. We sell the rider.
There is certainly no shortage of numbering, perforating and scoring machines
on the market.
SO WHY CHOOSE THE IGI SYSTEM?
A few good reasons. . .
PERFORMANCE for one. No other unit prints a better, a more professional number or
makes a better perforation or score than the IGI unit, as the enclosed samples will
readily attest.
PRICE, for another. With your press, you already own 90% of the IGI System. Even
one-sheet-at-time, hand-fed units cost almost twice as much as an IGI automatic,
high-speed numbering unit. This advantage, however, is afforded only those who
own a Multi 1250 (or an A. B. Dick press).
An old Multi 1250 doesn’t cost much.
Yet, it will feed stock and register
more accurately and reliably
than N, P/S units that sell for
$10,000.00 to $15,000.00.

How it works. . .
Installation and Use
Inker (inking pad) (A) takes ink from form rollers and
tranfers it to characters on numbering head (B).
Numbering head then simultaneously imprints stock
and trips to next number as it makes contact with
cyl-gd (C) on impression cylinder. This process
repeats with each revolution of cylinders.

A STRONG, RELIABLE SUPPORT SYSTEM
REPLACEMENT PARTS AND SUPPLIES
• Perf and score packing, cylinder guards, inking pads etc. are readily available from IGI, Inc. They are

• A wide variety of perf and score rules, both 3-hole-punched (standard) and slotted, for the adjustable
perf and score bar, are sold individually.
• All standard IGI numbering heads, ascending or descending, as well as center-driven heads have all
characters ground to a radius to match that of the impression cylinder. (A standard feature provided
by IGI, Inc. at no addition cost.)
• IGI, Inc. also repairs and modifies numbering machines.
CUSTOM ADAPTATIONS
IGI can customize numbering machines for special jobs.
• Static letter wheels before or after rotating numbering wheels.
• Skip heads – skip 2, skip 3 etc.
• Heads with two wheels or ten wheels.
• Micr heads for checks, to your specifications.
• All the above as well as very small heads with 1/8” or 1/16” characters are easily accommodated
by the IGI unit.
The design of the Multilith with its reliable and accurate registration, with cylinders riding on
solid, rather that spring-suspended shafts, is ideally suited for numbering, perforating and scoring.
