Dr. Seuss
Week
This week in library we celebrated the launch of Dr. Seuss’ new book titled “Which
Pet Should I Get?” The launch was a great success and many students came into the
library during break time eager to read the new book.
In the library
To celebrate, the library ran a different activity each day including a book reading,
movie screening of “The Cat In The Hat” and finished off with a Dr. Seuss themed
arts and crafts day. Staff in the library were overjoyed at the students enthusiasm
and engagement in the new books and activities available throughout the week. We
would like to thank all students who came along to help us celebrate the book launch
and to those who put in the time and effort in entering the colouring and writing
competitions.
A range of brand new Dr. Seuss classic books and multiple copies of the new book
“Which Pet Should I Get?” are now available from students to borrow and take home
to enjoy with their family.
By Belinda Joannou & Kathy Bugeja.
Students entered into a Dr. Seuss writing competition which asked them to
respond to the question “If you were in the book, which pet would you get
and why?
Here are some of our winners!
What pet should I get? Birds
of course! How their chirps
and tweets are kept in time
and beats. Fluttering around
with their feathery wings
and all the beautiful songs
they sing.
They have different colours,
shapes and names...Oh life
would never be the same!
Filled with laughter and fun
my days will be, however all
this comes with a great
responsibility. Some pets
name Daniel others Pete,
but most of all I’d love pet
Lorikeets!
By Aneeta (6H)
Which pet would I get,
that is what you ask,
well I’d never thought
that is a very hard task.
A dog or a cat, a bird or
a fish,
now I’ll have to think
about that, which pet
do I wish?
A dog I shall say to run
with and play, to take on
long walks and talk some
long talks.
So that is why I want a
dog, not a pet giraffe,
elephant or frog!
by Maire (5A)
I would choose a dog as a
pet because they’re playful.
Dogs are funny and really
cute. I think they are very
good pets for little
children like my sister
Sharon. Dogs keep you
active and my mum and dad
would like pet dogs because
they become guard dogs.
Dogs are always happy and
loving. So if I was in the
story, I would pick a dog as
a pet.

Fun in the Library!
