Entries close with the Secretary, PO Box 29 Hawera on Tuesday 26th October 2010. All equestrian event entry fees are less 20% for members of the Egmont A&P Association. Exhibitors and riders must be Egmont A&P Association members in their own right to qualify for member’s rates. Late entries on show day must be in by 8.00am. Late entries a 25 % penalty will apply in all classes and will not be catalogued. Alterations to entries or scratchings will not be taken by phone - please post, fax or email. Alterations to entries will incur a $3,00 surcharge. Entries must be submitted on an official entry form. Dressage and Showjumping entries must be accompanied by a ESNZ entry form and sticker. Entry forms available from the secretary or via www.ras.org.nz or ESNZ. No person who is in arrears with regard to entry fees, subscriptions, or any other show charges will be eligible to compete at any A&P Show, proof of payment will be required before any restriction will be lifted. Scratchings will be accepted until 9.00am each day. Scratchings made after 9.00am will not be eligible for refunds. Veterinarian or Doctors certificate is required for a refund. Application for refunds to be in writing within 14 days of the show. 75% of entries fees only will be refunded, no refunds under $20 will be made except where grading affects the class. Charges for horse accommodation for the show period as per entry form. Horse boxes and yards are issued in order of application of entry, with preference to visitors outside of the area bounded by the Waitara and Waitotara Rivers. Stabling days required - to be stated on the entry form. The Committee reserves the right to amalgamate classes if insufficient entries are received. Large classes will be split or prize money extended. No 2nd prize unless three entries received. No 3rd prize unless five entries received. No 4th prize unless eight entries received. Prize rule is at the discretion of the stewards. Competitors must carry Performance Cards and Height Certificates at all times. Any temporary fences erected by exhibitors will result in disqualification in all classes. Exhibitors are requested to park in the defined areas. Stewards and Association’s employees rulings must be adhered to. If sections coincide no class will be delayed. Exhibitors must insure all stock and property. The Egmont A&P Association will not accept responsibility for any loss or damage incurred while on the grounds or competing. That Horse & Pony Championships be judged from conformation classes only (excluding paced and mannered classes) with first placegetters being paraded for Champion and second place getter to the Champion being invited to parade for Reserve Champion judging. That competitor’s may take part in Competitions and Championships for pony riders until they reach the age 17. All stallions, regardless of age, to wear an identification badge "S" at all times. Gate entrance - $7.00 adult, $3.00 child (up to 13), under 5 no charge, $2.00 per car. Lost or misplaced tickets will be charged at the above rate. Cups and Trophy’s can be engraved at Unka’s Jewellers 189 High Street Hawera at the Egmont A&P Associations expense. Competitors are advised that there will be random drug tests carried out by the RAS during the show. Any competitor who has administered to their horse or pony any drug during seven days prior to the show is required to notify the secretary and fill out a medication advice form before competing. 2. The use of tranquilizers, stimulants or any drug which affects the performance of horses or ponies is forbidden. 3. Competitors are advised that tests for forbidden substances may be carried out during the show and that testing of all animals is at the owners risk. 4. Testing for forbidden substances will be carried out under the Royal Agricultural Society Forbidden Substance Judiciary 5. Committee (FSJC) procedures and rules (refer rule 89RAS Equestrian Judges and Competitors Rule Book and rule 55a of the RAS General Rules & Regulations). Measuring Rules The Measuring Rules of the Royal Agricultural Society of New Zealand will apply at this Show. Yellow Card Rules This Show supports the RAS ‘Yellow Card’ system, which will operate in the Equestrian Section of all RAS affiliated Shows and will be offered for any inappropriate behaviour towards Show officials, Judges, fellow competitors or any other third party connected with the Show bringing the equestrian discipline into disrepute, or cases which are of a less serious nature to the above in accordance with the Conduct of Members, Owners, Lessees, Competitors and/or Exhibitors as provide in the RAS Equestrian Competitors and Judges Rulebook and rule 13 of the RAS Constitution.” Implementation of the ‘Yellow Card’ will be in accordance of the RAS Rules that accompanied this Card, and full wording of the ‘Yellow Card’ system is available to view on the RAS website. Novice Section 1. A Novice is a Hack or Park Hack, Saddle Hunter, Horse or Pony which has not won more 2. than 5 firsts in conformation classes at any A&P Show, at the day of the Show. 3. Novice in Paced and Mannered classes is a Horse or Pony which has not won more than 4. 5 firsts in Paced and/or Mannered classes at an A&P show at the time of entry. 5. Once a Horse or Pony has had 5 wins it is not eligible for Novice classes. 6. Novices may enter Open classes. 7. Novice Champions are not eligible for Open Championships or Supremes unless they have 8. won their open class. 9. Where height is a requirement of the section, exhibitors must carry on hand an official RAS Life or Horse/Pony annual Height and Performance Card, Day Certificate, or (young stock certificate), failure to do so will result in elimination.
