Trim and Install Balusters
Using a metal tape measure, measure
the distance from the front hole in the
stair tread to the corresponding hole in
the bottom of the handrail.
Do this same procedure for the back
hole in the stair tread.
A Chop Saw with a diamond blade is the preferred way to cut the
iron balusters. Take care when marking and cutting the balusters.
Use proper safety precautions when doing this step. Take your time
and use a slow firm downward pressure to keep from chipping the
cutting disc.
To each of these measurements add 1-1/2”.

Assemble the Handrail:
35” + 1/1/2” = 36 -1/2”
This is your baluster height.
Using the above measurement, we determine the amount to cut off the
baluster to create the perfect height. By subtracting the desired height from
the baluster height (44”) we get the measurement to cut off the bottom of
the baluster.

tread. Then epoxy is applied
to the tops and the handrail
is lowered down onto them.
