We have rebuilt the MG3000™ from ground up. Now with a new more
intuitive program upgrade and an easier button push. The completely
redesigned MG3000™ offers a cleaner and crisper look in your dash.
Larger buttons on the outside of the mask makes it easier to navigate
the menus.
Reading the information on the gauge is even easier with the new
enlarged 4-line display. We have added a new bright Green and Blue
LCD options for improved viewing at night and various weather
conditions. The LCD is available with a neutral grey, bright green and
blue colors.
The MG3000™ continues to be the only solution for boat builders
faced with multiple engine installs. Faria digital gauges utilize both
analog sweeps, and digital displays providing concise and easy to
read information is right at the users finger tips. .
Connect up to any combination of discreet instruments in conjunction

The Faria Depth Sounder is available in all Faria Styles,
including Gold, Titanium, Polished Stainless Steel, Dress
White, Euro, Kronos and many others.
The Depth Sounders from Faria offer a 199 foot (61m) depth capability,
with an automatic gain control, backlighting for maximum night vision,
keel offset, and deep and shallow water alarms.
Depth can be read in meters, and feet. With its oversized back-lit display
depth can be easily read in any condition. Audible and Visual alarms let
the boater know when a shallow or deep water condition exist. A
programmable keel offset lets you adjust the offset from the keel at the
display.
The dual display of the Dual Temperature Depth Sounder can also show
temperature of the water and the ambient air temp. all from one 2” gauge.
The Dual Temperature Depth Sounder comes with a Transom Mounted
Transducer and Temp. Sender.

The Antares™ represents the next stage in the evolution of
multi-functions gauges .
The user settable screens gives the operator the choice of
Analog and Digital displays of the information, side by side on a
easy to read color LCD. Each section of the screen can be
changed giving the user the ultimate in customized gauges.
Ideal for dashes where space savings is important. The
Antares™ provides up to six different functions on one screen.
With two different gauge function screens the user can set two
different views and switch back and forth between views. Set
one view for low speed travel and one for high speed travel.
What ever your need the Antares™ can get the job done. GPS
speed and Lat/Long are displayed using an optional GPS
connection. Manage up to 3 tanks, manage trip calculations
with the on-board Fuel Manager.

Excessive exhaust temperature can be the greatest damaging factor to the life of an engine and turbocharger. Exhaust
temperature should never exceed engine manufacturer’s specifications.
The most reliable indicator for control of exhaust temperature is a pyrometer.
CAUSES FOR EXCESSIVE EXHAUST TEMPERATURE:
• Restricted air supply • High temperature of intake air or boost • Altitude • Fuel variations and contamination • Turbocharger malfunction • Exhaust back pressure • Engine timing and fuel system
• Engine overloading, i.e., operator misuse,
misapplication EFFECTS OF EXCESSIVE EXHAUST TEMPERATURE:
• Excessive smoking
• Fuel waste
• Carbon build-up
• Lube oil dilution by fuel oil
• Burned valves
• Sticking pistons and rings
• Head gasket failure
• Turbocharger damage
• Exhaust manifold cranking
• Injector failure
WHAT EVER THE CAUSE, ONLY A PYROMETER CAN INDICATE ANY & ALL OF THE ABOVE, BEFORE SERIOUS ENGINE
DAMAGE OCCURS. NOTE: Hewitt pyrometers require no power. NEVER apply vehicle voltage to pyrometer terminals,
damage beyond repair will occur. Only the illuminating lamp requires voltage.
Instrument Instructions
The pyrometer instrument should be mounted securely to minimize vibration, flexible brackets are not advised. Locate in
best viewing position. If lamp is removed during installation, lamp hole should be plugged or taped over to prevent dirt or
metal particles from contaminating the movement.

Thermocouple Installation:
Various threaded mounting adapters are available , i.e. 1/8 NPT/1/4 NPT/3/8 NPT and 1/2 NPT. If not specified, 1/4 NPT
will be supplied.
Location will vary depending on application and engine. On turbo charged engines, when possible thermocouple should
be installed in the manifold before the turbocharger. This will give the highest temperature indication and the best response
time. Hewitt thermocouples are designed to tolerate this location safely and carry a lifetime warranty. If mounting pre-turbo
is not possible a lower temperature of 150-200°F will result when mounting after the turbo.
For non-turbo engines, thermocouple may be installed in the manifold before or just after the exhaust pipe flange, as is
convenient.
Connecting terminals have staggered lengths to insure correct polarity, plus color match to extension wire. A plastic heat
shrinkable tube is supplied with the thermocouple and should be slid over the terminals after connection is made with the
extension wire and shrunk in place with heat for insulation purpose.
Extension Wire:
Standard available lengths are 7 ft. minimum, 12 ft. and 14 ft. maximum. If longer length is required, 2 conductor 18
gauge may be added between extension wire and instrument. Also, available color coded from Hewitt. When installing the
extension wire, care should be taken to stay clear of exhaust system and chafing areas, secure with the tie wraps, etc. to
eliminate wire movement. Terminal connections to pyrometer are designed to insure correct polarity.
Pyrometers
Standard Hewitt Pyrometers are designed for K-Type Thermocouples - Pyrometer accuracy +/- 2% at full scale. No
external power required except for illumination. Housings are made of rugged, high impact glass fiber - ABS. Bezel styles
are available in bright stainless steel or matte black anodized aluminum. Red pointer with white characters on black dial
are standard for easy reference. Bracket and light kits are included. Special calibration and custom logos are available on
request.

When installing pyrometers and thermocouples, thermocouple extension wire must be used to maintain the integrity and
accuracy of the pyrometer. Copper wire should only be used to extend lead lengths longer than 14 ft. and should be spliced
onto the thermocouple extension wire and then extended to the gauge. (Use minimum 18 gauge wire: P/N 713-007). NOTE: Longer lengths available by special order. 1/4” NPT fitting is standard with all thermocouples unless specified.

Insta-Trim Boat Leveler tabs are two stainless steel planes installed on the transom. As the hydraulic cylinders deflect the trim tabs,
water flow is redirected. This water flow creates upward pressure under the trim tabs, raising the stern. As the stern rises the bow lowers
(figure 1). Because proper trim tab surface area is essential, larger and/ or slower boats require larger trim tabs than smaller faster boats.
Insta-Trim Boat Leveler Tabs employ the force of hydraulics for smooth trimming action. When the trim tab rocker switch is pressed,
electrical current is sent to the hydraulic motor pump unit. This signal activates the electic motor, creating fluid pressure. Valves on motor
pump unit open, channeling the required amount of fluid to
the actuators. When the trim tab rocker switch is released,
the valve close, capturing the fluid in the actuators hydraulic
cylinders. Thus trim tabs hold their position.
Insta-Trim Boat Leveler Tabs operate in reverse of what
you might think. The port trim tab lifts the port stern which
lowers the starboard bow. With properly installed trim tabs,
you will not be as aware of this reverse function as the
control function is based on the direction you wish to move
the bow (figure 2).

N U M B E R OF STATIONS
If you want to be in control at 1 or 2 locations (“stations”), then push-pull controls will work for you. If you have 3 or more stations, push-pull
might work but generally people should use Electronic , or Pneumatic or Wire-Over-Pulley controls. We recommend Electronic controls for most
three station systems.
S I Z E O F VESSEL
Push-Pull is a mechanically connected system. It uses cables to connect control heads to the clutch and throttle. If the total length of cable
is less than 50 feet (15 meters), push-pull can work for you. If the cables need to have many bends, or the connection length is more than
50 feet, Electronic controls would be the best choice. That depends largely on how easy it is to operate the clutch and engine interfaces.
Some are very stiff and need a powered actuator.
There are vessels with 80 feet of push-pull cable that work well. If you need more than 50 feet for a push-pull system, please contact us.
We would need to evaluate your requirements. Please tell us:
- the number of cable bends,
- the cable length, and
- the number of stations.
We will give you our recommendation for a good working control system.
Tech Tip: For 2 station systems, the cable length is considered to be the total length for both stations. For example, a 20 foot cable to one station, plus a 30 foot run for the other station,
is a total of 50 feet. If you are using more than 30 feet of cable, you should use the 40 series cable. It will last longer and run smoother.

Some people prefer to separate the clutch and throttle into separate handles.
Others prefer combining the clutch and throttle in one handle. This is called “Single Lever” control: From the neutral position, push forward
to engage the clutch and then push further for forward speed. Reverse is achieved by pulling back from the middle position to engage the
clutch. Pulling back further would increase the reverse speed.

Order one 2009-AK . The 2009 is our most popular push-pull control
head. The control shown on the left is the “AK” version. The “A” means
that the control comes with one long handle for clutch, and one short
handle for throttle. The clutch handle has an adjustable neutral

detent. A detent gives you a “click” so you know where neutral is
(without looking at the control). The throttle handle has an adjustable
friction so you can get the right feel for your control. “K” is for a
chrome finish. There are many other options available to you.

Order two 2009-AK or if you want both clutch handles on the same
control head, order:

One 2009-FK Controls Two Throttles.
The “BK” has two long handles, each with an adjustable neutral
detent. The “FK” has two short handles with adjustable frictions.
If you have two stations, simply double the quantity that you need.
The following controls can be substituted for the 2009:

This product is a heavy duty version of the 2009 and is
better for longer cable runs.
2012
This product is the toughest push-pull control available
and also allows for 4” stroke.
2014
Illuminated control head (for those quiet nights at sea).
2015
A different style and fewer options. e.g. No Interlock.
The ordering options for these substitutes are similar to the 2009.
e.g. 2011-AK is for one long handle with a neutral detent (Clutch),

and one short handle with friction (Throttle). The individual product

We offer a stackable control head that is commonly used by the
premium race boats. This is our 2016 control head. This model shows
two throttles and two clutches. We can make any combination of

ch1700 SeRieS:
CH1700 series of controls are the most sure handling
and comfortable you can buy. The shapely, balanced
grip provides a very smooth yet solid feel. This side
mount control is designed for Starboard (right
side) gunwale mounting only. These controls come
with the standard features of neutral safety switch,
neutral lock out, neutral warm up and the safety stop
switch with lanyard. you can also get the optoinal
trim switch (most outboards) or trim and tilt (most
stern drives). These controls can not only use the
3300/33C style control cables they can also use
Mercury style cables from 1965 to date including the
Gen ii, OMC/Johnson/Evinrude/BRP control cables
