Welcome
Camping
Regulations
As the holder of a camping permit, you are responsible
for the behaviour of all members of your group.
• One non-transferable camping permit will
be issued per campsite, per party (maximum
6 persons). Campers must be here with their
camping units to register. You need both a camping
permit and park pass.
• Each campsite may contain up to two camping
units, as long as one is a tent.
• Place your vehicle, motorhome, or trailer on the gravel
pad. Do not park extra vehicles in roadways
or on undergrowth. Tents must be located on the
central (tent) pad as well.
• Share the common kitchen shelters located
throughout the campground. Never store food or
equipment in these buildings; pets are not permitted
in the shelters. Alcohol may be consumed on your
campsite only. Refrain from using kitchen shelters
during the quiet hours.

24 HOUR EMERGENCY: 403-859-2636
Every visitor plays an important role in protecting the
campground and the park. By following camping and
park regulations you can contribute to the quiet, relaxed,
natural experience campers come here to enjoy.
Our native vegetation is easily damaged. To maintain
the trees and undergrowth, avoid disturbing the area
outside your designated campsite. Ask your campground
attendant for more information.
For more information about Waterton Lakes National
Park, stop by the Visitor Centre (summer months),

Crandell
CAMPGROUND
Located along the Red Rock Parkway
in the scenic Blakiston Valley, this
campground is set in a pleasant
montane forest. It offers 129 unserviced
sites, flush toilets, piped water, kitchen
shelters, some fire rings and firewood,
food storage, recycling bins, and a dump
station. While no showers are available
here, registered campers can use
showers in Townsite Campground.
Crandell Campground
is popular with those
campers who like their
campsites more sheltered
and removed from town.
Crandell Lake is a short
2 km hike from the
campground.
Ask about our Tipi camping experience.
What you do affects wildlife and other campers’ experience.
Bears and other wildlife live
in the area, commonly wander
through the campground, and
are attracted to food odours. Our Bare Campsite
Program is an important part of your experience.
• Please keep a clean campsite; read the brochure
entitled The “Bare” Campsite Program.
• Place garbage in bins.
• Avoid cooking inside tents and tent trailers.
• All food supplies, including coolers, must be
stored in your vehicles or in food storage lockers,
located throughout the campground.
Pets may jeopardize your safety and
theirs if they provoke or attract wildlife.
Some deer may attack without
provocation, and can seriously
injure or kill a dog. Please report
any incident to park staff.
Please clean up after your pet and
don’t leave their food outside to attract wildlife.
For the safety of both pets and wildlife, pets
must be leashed and never left unattended.
Printed on 100% recycled paper.
