What's Happening at The Village of Meyerland?
There is nothing like sunshine and
exercise to brighten the spirits of
our residents! The fresh air brings
with it feelings of contentment
and renewal.
We have added a new program in
our physical fitness regimen :
The musical entertainment of Jim Connors
evokes happy clapping and singing from our Residents.
Evelyn interacts with the literature and music presented
by the Houston Public Library

The Conductorcise class is "A
Sound Workout for Mind, Body
and Soul". It combines aerobics
and music. Maestro David
Dworkin is both an exercise
coach and tour guide through
each musical score. Our residents
get plenty of "cardiovascular
engagement" as they literally
conduct with his video program
to classics such as a Sousa
march, Strauss polka or an
elegant Tchaikovsky waltz! Come
and join us for this marvelously
invigorating Class. Conductor
baton's provided to enhance the
musical experience.
Our Walking Club is committed to
taking more trips to the local
walking trails around town as well
as holding events on our very
own outdoor patio in order to
maximize the benefits of nature
as it relates to physical and
mental health.
Music is always a vital part of our
daily programming with a varied
genre of entertainers to lift our
spirits and get us moving!
We had Rodney Rasberry playing
Mexican Mariachi Band music ,
Guillermo Serpas serenading us
with nostalgic love songs on his
classical guitar , Robert Landau
presenting the life and music of
Judy Garland, Brian singing
popular tunes with his acoustic
guitar, Jim Connors getting us
singing and moving with his
Military Band numbers and "Elvis
& Friends for Memorial Day!
