Sign onto “Guest” with the password: chbcwifi Virginia Patrick was born the only child to Alice and Ernest Long on May 9, 1921, in Bay City, MI. She is a graduate of Handy High School. Virginia and the love of her life, Gerald Patrick, decided to elope and got married at the Bay County Court House. They had two children, a son and daughter. Sadly, one morning when her son was 3 years old she noticed her son not feeling well. Tragically, he passed away hours later. After their loss, Virginia decided to be a stay-at-home mother to provide the best love and care to her daughter, Suzanne. Virginia loves to spend time with her family. She is an avid reader, with her favorite publication being Women’s World Magazine, and ventured into the art of sewing. She also enjoys playing card games such as rummy and pinochle, participating in many rounds of BINGO, staying informed with world events by watching the news, and getting pampered with hair and nail appointments. Sign up sheets for this outing is on the Activity director’s, The Forgotten Eagles is a nonprofit organization that promotes POW/MIA awareness and host events and collect donations for various veteran programs. Their visits to the Carriage House always brings out the Veterans and is a great time to reminisce about their time served in the armed services. The organization will be visiting the Carriage House on Saturday, May 23rd at 10:00am. This is also a great event for motorcycle enthusiasts as that is their mode preferred mode of transportation. The Resident Council meets every month at the Carriage House. It is a platform for residents to voice concerns, give praises or provide suggestions on how to make The Carriage House feel more and more like home. Everyone is invited to attend. This month’s meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 27th in the Garden Room. Let Lori and her associates pamper you! Open: Monday-Thursday 9:00am –Noon Call Lori for prices, services provided and appointments! Hospice Care focuses on end of life care and emotional support for the resident and family. Hospice Care is available at the Carriage House. If you are interested please speak with your nurse or social worker. Resident’s can set up a cash account in the business office. These funds can be used at the beauty parlor, activity food stand, activity outings, etc. Cash is available for deposit and withdrawal everyday 7:30am-8:30pm. We ask that any items such as clothing, furniture, pictures, and jewelry are taken to the business office or resident’s nursing station before being placed in the resident’s room. We are starting an inventory list for all residents in our care. Thank you so much for your cooperation. We are requesting that all clothing be properly marked with a resident's name before being placed in their room. Our laundry dept. would be happy to label them for you. Simply hand the clothes to their nurse or c.n.a. and they will take care of the rest.
