July At VOP Steeplechase~
What's Happening at Village on the Park?
The Fourth of July is the birth of our
Nation and all this month, here at
Village On The Park ~ we will
proudly highlight and celebrate the
freedoms and benefits that comes
with this day.
Author of the Declaration of
Independence, Thomas Jefferson,
along with the representatives of the
13 Colonies, signed in August of
1776, the Declaration that makes
this day so very special.
It's a time for families, baseball,
hot dogs, picnics and fireworks.
At Steeplechase, we hope you will
enjoy some of the special events
with us this month in honor of this
day, starting on Sunday, July 3rd,
with a morning event at the Foundry
with the Houston Symphonic Band.
Sophie will do tricks, but her favorite one to do is
the "Rub My Belly, Please"!
Chair Tai Chi classes with Charles every other Monday
helps to keep everyone limber.

There will be outings to Allen Pkwy.
to see our Presidents and Flags
displayed there and to Kleb Woods
Nature Park & Museum in Tomball
to see some of our native Texas
birds and animals.
Experience honored glory and
sacred heritage through dramatic
portrayals as Mary Margaret Mann's
presents, "A Patriot's Heart".
Bobby Ray & Dennis Evans will
perform "Americana: The Songs We
Love" and Harry Sheppard will be
here to entertain with favorite oldies
on the Xylophone.
Speaker, Robert Landau with make
us all laugh with the biography of
Victor Borge, one of "America's
Greatest Comedians"!
Resident, Bob Joyce, a Docent with
Houston Museum of Science will
show us fossils, plants and animals
in his presentation on Paleontology.
And, yes, we'll have good ol' hot
dogs, hamburgers, popcicles, ice
cream cones and even something
called "Firecracker Punch" to enjoy!
