History
Acavallo’s history begins with a shared passion for riding.
Mauro Benetti and Monica Speroni, the company owners, partners in life and work, met in the 1980s frequenting both the equestrian field: Mauro for work,
while Monica was following her passion for show jumping, competing with young horses.
This meeting gave rise first to their love and then, in 1987, to the idea of combining their mutual knowledge to set up a business that would comply with
their values: passion and respect for riding.
Acavallo was founded in 2003 and quickly became a company of excellence in the sector, internationally recognized for the reliability of its products.
In 2013, with the joining of the Benetti family’s second generation in the company, Acavallo implemented customer care and customer service
departments, with the aim of meeting the customers’ demands and needs. Like her mother, Vittoria Benetti also has a past as a horsewoman, and grew up
in the company absorbing the technical know-how passed from her parents. Vittoria also coordinates the marketing and communication department.
Acavallo boasts a 360° knowledge in horse technical equipment.
The flagship is featured by products that use therapeutic gel as feedstock, the same used in health care to promote the health of patients. From the
combination of the gel with natural materials, such as sheepskin, originates Sheepskin & Gel Pad, a saddle pad used by many riders, first of all awardwinning Charlotte Dujardin, testimonial of excellence alongside Scott Brash.
In 2014 the company expanded its range of products in the market by launching the new silkscreened horse boots and the stirrup Opera. In the same year
revolutionary Gel & Sheepskin Girth Saver was presented to the exhibition Spoga Horse: it is the confirmation of the company’s focus on products for the
horse welfare and protection.
The products in the catalog are a hundred and include saddle pads, saddle covers, girths, stirrups, horse boots and many gel accessories.
Acavallo is present in over 40 countries and has numerous patents, demonstrating the high standards of innovation pursued.

Materials
Acavallo Therapeutic Gel
Extremely lightweight, the Acavallo soft gel pad can be used directly on the horse’s back. Acavallo gel has a remarkable ability to absorb shocks,
is suitable for any type of saddle and fits perfectly to the horse’s back. The unique feature of Acavallo gel is that it is sticky, which is the reason why all
riders love it. After washing, it gets sticky again, provided that the instructions below are followed. It has the ability to allow the skin to breathe while
maintaining contact with the saddle, thanks to an excellent shock-absorbing non-slip layer. A thoroughly elastic stretch product, it can be cut to the desired
shape (riders often cut it of half an inch so that it is not visible under the saddle). It blocks any unwanted movement of the saddle, backwards, forwards
and sidewards. A real asset if the saddles rotate on the ‘rounder’ horses & ponies.
Skidproof, antibacterial, non-toxic, hypo allergenic, non-absorbent of fluids, smell and bacteria. Machine-washable at 30 degrees or by simply running
under water using mild soap. Do not use harsh detergents. Do not tumble dry. Do not expose to direct heat or strong sunlight. Allow to dry naturally.
Sheepskin
Man has been using sheepskin since ancient times because of its comfort and protective qualities. Most of the muttons offer 3000 fibers per square inch,
and each fiber is like a tiny shock absorber that makes sheepskin probably the best emollient padding in nature. The pile of those special tanned sheepskins
is 30 mm. The Acavallo wool is selected in order to have a very high density. Sheepskin will not give off an electrical charge. Synthetic seat covers
are a 100% insulator of electrical energy. All natural sheepskin is a partial insulator providing you an undisturbed release of static electricity created by
the natural friction of your body and the environment. Sheepskin is able to absorb sweat immediately and can submit it in to the air seven times faster than
synthetics. Machine-washable (30 degrees) or by hand simply using water. Remove any dried mud or sweat with a brush before washing. Rub human hair
conditioner into the lambskin before washing. Do not tumble dry. Do not expose to direct heat.
Memory Foam
Memory Foam (an open-cell variety of flexible polyurethane foam) was first commercialized during the mid-60’s as a result of NASA’s AMES Research
Center to improve the safety of aircraft cushions. This material is characterized by slow recovery after compression. Its ability to closely contour to shapes
allows surface pressure to be distributed over a wide area. Other characteristics include its ability to dampen vibration as well as absorb shocks.
This product also reacts to body temperature softening and adjusts more easily to body contours.
Dri-Lex
Dri-Lex is a fabric that combine hydrophobic and hydrophilic fibers in a composite structure that is unique in the industry. The inner layer stays dry, while
the outer layer acts as a micro-reservoir for sweat, and the moisture is literally vaporized. Dri-Lex fabrics are engineered to enhance nature’s work.
They rapidly move moisture through performance equipment to keep the body dry and comfortable.

Charlotte Dujardin
The hidden secrets of a global champion
Born on 13 July 1985 in London, Charlotte Dujardin is a world dressage champion.
She started riding at the age of two with her sister’s horses. At three she achieved the 2nd place at the Pony Club show jumping competition. She used
to show horses and ponies and, partly thanks to the support of her family, won the Horse of the Year Show and the Royal International Horse Show at
Hickstead.
At thirteen, after encouragement from her trainer Debbie Thomas, she embraced dressage with a horse, Fernandez, which she had inherited from her
grandmother.
In 2007 her mother Jane met British dressage rider and coach Carl Hester and convinced him to give her daughter lessons. She began working as a groom
in Hester’s yard in Newent, Gloucestershire, where she has since remained.
She competed with the gelding Valegro, which was entrusted to her to be trained, in her first dressage Grand Prix event in 2011.
Since then the pair won many prestigious competitions as the European Dressage Championship in Rotterdam and the FEI World Cup Grand Prix in London
in 2011.
Again, with Valegro, she won the 2012 World Cup Freestyle event in London and in August of the same year they won both the team and the individual
dressage gold medal at the 2012 Games of the XXX Olympiad.
In 2013 she was awarded the gold at the FEI European Championships in Herning.
In 2014 she won the Dressage World Cup in Lyon and the year after in Las Vegas.
Again in 2015 she earned the gold in the freestyle and special dressage events, and silver in the team event at the FEI European Championships in Aachen.
She became the first dressage rider to hold the World Cup, as well as other world and European titles. She was also an Olympian winner.
She joined Acavallo team in 2012. She uses the Acavallo products in training and in competitions.
In particular, she uses a Sheepskin Just Gel Pad under her saddle and a Shaped Gel Pad directly on Valegro’s back. About those products she said: “I love
my Acavallo gel pad for the comfort and freedom it gives Valegro. He enjoys the therapeutic gel pads under his saddle and the beautiful lambskin adds that
special touch, as well as a super soft shock absorbing layer. I wouldn’t be without them”.

Scott Brash
The flying scotsman
Scott Brash is currently the world number one show jumper born on 23 November 1985 in Peebles, Scotland.
He began riding with his own pony at the age of seven, and at ten years old did his first show jumping competition with The Pony Club.
Brash’s top horse is Hello Sanctos, currently the world number one horse, with whom he has been riding since late 2011. He competed as part of the
British Team at 2012 Games of the XXX Olympiad in London and won the gold medal in the team event.
He won the World Cup Grand Prix in Florida in 2012.
In 2013 Scott Brash won the team gold and individual bronze medal at the Hearing FEI European Championships. He was also awarded a Member of the
Order of the British Empire (MBE).
In November of the same year, Scott sealed victory in the Grand Prix at the Longines Global Champions Tour in Doha.
In 2014, Scott became the first rider ever to win three Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in the same season, in Cannes, Cascais–Estoril and
London.
In the same year, he won the Rolex Grand Prix in Geneva.
In May 2015, Brash and Hello Sanctos won the Rolex Grand Prix titles in Aachen and Calgary. This made him the first rider to win show jumping’s Rolex
Grand Slam and the sport’s biggest individual prize.
Again, he won three legs of the LGCT Grand Prix in 2015, and has topped the Longines World Rankings since 2013.
Scott Brash joined Acavallo team in 2015. The company does not consider him just an ambassador but also a collaborator who can help to bring innovation
in existing products and new ones.

gel to both the horse and the saddle at the same time. The low profile of the gel ensures the absence of excessive bulk

COMFORT PVC GIRTH
Innovation, safety and attention to details are the key words to describe this girth.
This comfort girth is completely made of composite material (TPU) and eco leather, and equipped with the new Acavallo®
Gel Padding System. The special design of this gel panel eliminates the risk of pinching and relieves pressure on the sensitive
internal organs of your horse, also allowing an increased blood circulation and supply of oxygen. The arrangement of the
individual gel padding elements has been developed to facilitate breathing and reduce transpiration by means of a sophisticated
airflow pattern, preventing excessive heat accumulation even under high-performance conditions.
Neither the smallest detail was left to chance during the development and the testing stages of this product. This applies in
particular to the new and patented Acavallo® safety fastening hook, designed to eliminate the need for additional snap hooks,
e.g. on the martingale, or for strap and buckle elements on the belly plate of the girth which always imply high risks
of entangling and falling of the horse when jumping. In addition to this safety concern which we had in mind when developing
this special hook – i.e. creating a smooth martingale/girth connection excluding any unnecessary, potential points
of engagement of the horse shoe or hoof – ease of use was another main objective implemented in the design of this sturdy
and long-life hook.
Martingale fastening and removal has never been so easy.
You can insertand remove the martingale/breastplate strap with ease with just a simple movement without having to loosen
the saddle. The little closing tab (see illustrations), which is almost invisible and placed at the tip of the hook ensures
maximum safety by preventing the martingale strap from being released accidentally.

GEL & SHEEPSKIN GIRTH SAVER
The new girth saver is the example that Acavallo works for the horse and for its well-being. A real innovation based
on only two simple and well-known materials: Acavallo gel and sheepskin.
The softness, lightness and delicacy of the sheepskin, which provides perfect protection for sensitive skin areas,
are combined with Acavallo gel with all of its outstanding properties: anti-slip, shock absorption, anatomical shape, durability,
resistance but also a high degree of flexibility. Our girth saver has an anatomically shaped profile, which enhances the freedom
of movement and comfort of the horse.
The thickness of the gel is a determining factor and was arranged to meet the anatomical and physical needs of the horse.
Based on extensive testing, we determined that the correct thickness inside the girth had to be 5 mm. Only in the middle part,
where pressure and friction forces are higher, the gel is slightly thicker.

The Acavallo Gel Leg Bandage is easy, safe and wrinkle free. It provides support and shock absorption to tendons and joints
without the risk of slipping. The gel is bonded for seam free comfort. It can also be chilled before being used for to give cold
therapy. It is ideal for reducing swellings, like wind galls, and does not mark legs. Perfect for use on both and back legs and
usable for all disciplines: jumping, dressage, endurance, western and racing.
The Acavallo Gel Leg Underbandage gives protection from micro traumas, caused by intensive work and the worsening
old injuries. The shape of the Acavallo therapeutic gel under bandage provides maximum support to the suspensory.
Exceptional results for jumpers, dressage, race and event horses. We suggest freezing it for cool tendons and ligaments.

protect the mouth from pinching and gain more bit control. Contoured gel protectors
mould comfortably around the mouthpiece inside of the bit rings to minimize friction
and rubbing. These unique guards keep the bit perfectly straight in the mouth
allowing for better turning and responsiveness. A real aid for training, young or
difficult horses.
The Gel Nose & Poll Guard made by Acavallo offers vital
protection from rubbing and chafing when noseband
pressure is required. Also distributes pressure over the
sensitive poll area when used on the headpiece. A poll
guard protect the horse poll area located between the
horse’s ears. This is a particular sensitive area because
the poll is the bony point where the spinal cord is
attached to the skull and is susceptible to injury.
