Description: CBIGG Management, who owns and operates several private clubs and public courses
throughout Texas, is seeking qualified applicants for Golf Course Superintendent at Riverchase. The
position is responsible for the operation of the Golf Course Maintenance Department and Clubhouse
Grounds. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: establishing, organizing and directing of all
turfgrass/ plant maintenance programs, personnel management, budget/ forecasting, financial
management, Member relations, pesticide management and compliance of any regulatory issues.
Position reports to the General Manager, and works closely with other Department Heads to ensure
smooth operation in achieving Club or course objectives.

superintendent’s supervision, the assistant superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf
course tees, greens, fairways, and cart paths; supervises the maintenance; and does related work as required.
The assistant superintendent may serve in the superintendent’s capacity during his absence. Must be able to
calibrate spreaders and sprayers accurately and working knowledge of sprayer. Willing to work 45-50 hour

Job Description:
The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting the Superintendent in the operating functions of the Golf Course
Maintenance Department to ensure the healthy growth of the golf course & Clubhouse Grounds grasses, trees, wetlands, and other
plant materials. The duties include turfgrass/plant material maintenance programs, property/asset management, assisting with
forecasting and expense management, scheduling and maintenance of irrigation systems, pesticide applications, related recordings,
and compliance of regulatory issues as directed by the Superintendent.
The Assistant Superintendent will participate in the hiring, training and developing all staff, including ensuring the staff is working
within OSHA, club safety, state and federal guidelines for safe working conditions.
Job Requirements:
1-2 years experience in Golf Course Maintenance
Min 2-year College Agronomy Degree preferred
Pesticide Applicators License required
Knowledge of regulatory requirements and recordkeeping as required by local, state and federal laws
Diplomatic team player able to foster relationships with Members, Employee Partners and guests

Education Requirements: 2-Year Turf Certificate, Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
Duties: Directs the grounds crew (equipment operators, landscape staff, and those assigned to golf maintenance, etc.)
in the performance and fulfillment of job assignments based on instructions from the 1st Assistant Superintendent.

Experience Requirements: Candidate should possess or have accomplished:
 Completed an internship during their schooling and be able to produce favorable references.
 Ability to communicate effectively
 Currently be working in the golf course management business.
 Experience with golf course equipment operation. 1+ year full time golf course experience is preferred.
 Ability to work with a multicultural crew.
 Understand and have experience with fertilizer and pesticide calibration and application.

 Obtain a Texas State pesticide applicator license within 180 days of employment.

management duties will be assigned. Continuing education and/or tournament volunteering will be an expected desire

About Carlton Woods: The Club at Carlton Woods is Located just north of Houston in the Woodlands, Texas, and is only

WORKING CONDITIONS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
This position operates in a working environment that is subject to hazards associated with use of pesticides and
general landscape care products, basic hand and power tools, and gardening/mowing equipment. This position
generally works outside and is subject to all weather conditions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to use all equipment associated with the position, including, but not limited to, basic hand, power tools,
and mowing equipment.
