Pune City Walk - 1
This proposed walk will start from Shaniwar wada and end at the same place and is tailored to be a half day walk and organisers /
participants / individuals can include a lunch in the itinerary.
The route will be as follows:
Shaniwar Wada --> Kasba Ganpati Mandir --> Lal Mahal --> Dagduseth Ganpati Mandir --> Tulsibaug Area --> Mandai Vegetable & Fruit
Market --> Vishrambaug Wada --> Lakshmi Road --> Deccan Gymkhana --> Lunch --> Return Riskshaw Ride or Walk to Shaniwar Wada (Tour
End)
The Red Circle is the parking Area of Shaniwar wada and gathering point.
9.30 to 10 AM is a suitable time for all People to get there. Park your vehicles and take receipts for parking and do not leave any valuables
in you vehicles.
First we will see Shaniwar Wada from Inside - Approx time 20 mins.
After the Shaniwarwada Tour we will now visit the "Shri Kasba Ganpati Mandir". Kasba Ganpati is the "Gramdevat" or the resident deity of
Pune and has a lot of importance in the hearts of all Punekars. It is a 10 mins walk from Shaniwar Wada to Kasba Ganpati Mandir.
After visiting the Kasba Ganpati Madir, we will now go to see the "Lal Mahal"
Lal Mahal is the place where Shri Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj lived as a child and took over the reign of 'Pune Suba' It is a 2 or 3 mins walk
from Kasba Ganpati Mandir to Lal Mahal.

After Visiting Lal Mahal, we would now proceed to 'Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir'
Dagdusheth Ganpati is a very famous Ganpati Temple from Pune and is also one of the richest Ganpati temples. It is a 10 mins walk from
Lal Mahal to Dagduseth Ganpati Mandir.

After visiting the Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir we will proceed towards the Tulsibaug area.
Tulsibaug is a Market area with lot of shops for womens shopping and some for brass metal statues and souveniers. It is a 10 mins walk
from Dagduseth Ganpati Mandir to Tulsibaug.
Tulsibaug is a well known market area which is a very busy shopping area in Pune. Shops are for Traditional Maharashtrian cooking items,
cosmetics, jewelry and all types of household items can be shopped in this market. Tulsibaug area is basically famous for women's
shopping, where they can buy pretty much everything they need.
You will need 20 to 30 mins to roam the entire market area.
After visiting the Tulsibaug Market Area, we will now proceed towards Mahatma Phule Mandai or Vegetable Market.
Earlier called the Ray Market, this is this biggest vegetable market in Pune City. It was built by the British and was completed in 1886. It is
a 2 mins walk from Tulsibaug to Vishrambaug Wada.
Mahatma Phule Mandai is situated in the center of Pune City. Because of its location this place is often used for meetings, Conferences,
starting point for the Ganesh festival procession etc.
The structure is eight sided and has 8 ways which lead you out from the center of the market. There are around 526 stalls with particular
vegetable or fruits to be sold at particular places. You will need approx time 15 mins to see the market.

After visiting the Mahatma Phule Market Area, we will now proceed towards the Vishrambaug Wada.
Vishrambag Wada is on Bajirao Road, Pune in Maharashtra. Bajirao Peshwe II built this monument. Vishrambag Wada is a three-storeyed
mansion and this structure is famous for its fine entrance and the balcony with carved woodwork.
There is also a small exhibition and a show in Vishrambaug Wada
It is a 5 mins walk from Mandai to Vishrambaug Wada.

After visiting Vishrambaug Wada, we will now visit the famous shopping area of Laxmi Road and proceed further towards Deccan
Gymkhana.
Lakshmi Road is famous for its variety of readymade clothes shops and attracts shoppers from all over the city.
walk towards Deccan will be a long one... Approx 20 to 30 mins

Now we have reached the Deccan Gymkhana area of Pune.
Deccan Gymkhana area lies in the centre of the city. This area has lots of cafes, entertainment areas, restaurants, shopping malls and
shops and is one of the major areas of Pune. Important roads like Karve Road, Jangli Maharaj Road and Fergusson College Road originate in
this area.
Deccan Gymkhana got its name after the famous sports club Deccan Gymkhana Sports Club which is situated in this area. Apart from
Deccan Gymkhana Sports Club there is another sports club here known as PYC Hindu Gymkhana.
You can have your Lunch here as there are many good restaurants and fast food joints like KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut etc.
Lunch - 45 mins to 1 hr.

Tour END
After Lunch, you can either take a walk back to Shaniwar Wada,
OR
Take a Rickshaw ride back to Shaniwar Wada as it can be a fun experience for people from outside India as it is a long distance to walk
back from Deccan Gymkhana to Shaniwar Wada.
