October is National
Stand Up to Bullying Month
At the Wisconsin Valley Fair in August WIFC radio kicked off a
campaign encouraging students to Stand Up to Bullying. CCU
along with Rock and Tait Exteriors are pleased to have partnered
with WIFC as sponsors of this very important program.
Since the school year began, WIFC has been at area football
games inviting students to sign the pledge, and a number of
schools are participating in the program.
If you have school-age children we invite you to bring them in to
any CCU location during the month of October and have them
sign the pledge and receive a Stand Up to Bullying bracelet.
Taking the pledge and wearing the bracelet are important first
steps. Experts agree those who witness bullying and are the
bystanders are key to ending bullying. Nobody deserves to be
tormented by cruel and thoughtless taunting of verbal, physical
or cyber attacks.
CCU would like to reward students who take the pledge by giving
them $10 when they open a new checking account with a FREE
Check Card.
A Check Card is a good way to teach students how to manage
the money they have from an allowance, gifts or a job. Taking
the pledge to Stand Up to Bullying helps teach students to
assume responsibility for their actions and starting your child off
with a Check Card is a good way to teach them responsibility of
managing money.
We encourage parents to take the time to discuss these important
topics with their children. For more information log on to the CCU
website or visit with membership services.
*$10 reward will be deposited into account at time of opening a new checking
account at Cloverbelt Credit Union. To open a checking account on their own a youth
must be age 15 years or older. Youth age 14 or younger require a parent/guardian
who is of age to be joint account holder. Members under age 18 can only access
funds using a CCU Check Card unless a parent or guardian is a joint holder on the
account. Establishing CCU membership requires a $5 deposit to a savings account.
A minimum of $25 deposit is needed to open a checking account. Offer expires
November 1, 2014.

of strong, consistent growth. Throughout the year
we sponsor a wide variety of student programs.
We strongly believe education is the key to a bright

If you have a college student in your family who needs some financial help from mom and dad from time to time,
there are several ways to make a deposit to their CCU checking or savings account. You can do so in person,
by phone, by scheduled weekly or monthly transfers between your CCU account and your child’s CCU account.
It’s also easy to transfer funds via CU-Online or Mobile Banking. However, please note online transactions
require parent and child first sign a card to link their accounts online.
You could also send your student a check and they can deposit it themselves
using CCU’s Mobile App with Mobile Deposit. Mobile Deposit allows members to
deposit checks to their CCU checking account. Checks can be deposited
by simply endorsing the check (including their member number and
specifying it for mobile deposit), taking a picture of the front and back
of the check and submitting the image for credit to their account. It’s
a quick easy way to deposit funds using a smartphone.
If you have questions on any of these transaction options, please
call or visit with CCU membership services.

2014 Christmas savings payouts were recently
deposited to the accounts of participating members. Nearly 500
members use this account to manage their seasonal expenses.
If you would like to begin a savings program for Christmas 2015,
stop in at any CCU location. Those who already participate in
the savings plan just need to make a deposit to activate their
account for next year.
Both new and existing Christmas Savings members can choose
one of these free gifts: a clover, tree or star cookie cutter in a
gift box (complete with sugar cookie recipe) or a dessert server.

Members in our youth savers
club were recently asked to
guess where the club’s mascot
Lucky the Lion traveled during
the summer. Children received a
letter with six pictures of Lucky
at various places around the area
(Farmers’ Market, 400 Block, the
Marathon County Public Library,
McDonald’s Playland, Marathon Park and the Humane Society
of Marathon County). Those who guessed correctly were then
entered into a random drawing for two weekend admissions
to Helene’s Hilltop Orchard in Merrill. Winners included Alexa
Howard, Elizabeth Bella and Lavivianne Fischer.

Every quarter of the school year, CCU invites any
kindergarten through 12th grade student of a public,
private or home school who is a CCU member (or the
child or grandchild of a member) to submit their report
card containing one or more A’s (or equivalent score)
to any CCU office. A random drawing is held each
quarter and three students in each of 4 grade groups
are selected to receive $25. At the end of the school
year, all eligible A-Team students are entered
into a drawing for a $300 grand prize!
The first quarter drawing will be held near
the end of November so students are
encouraged to submit their qualifying
report card as soon as possible. Good
luck, study hard and be sure to join the
A-Team for a chance to win!
