WHAT IS TISAMA ALKALINE?
The Tisama Alkaline Method is a Wellbeing, Vitality, Health and Slimming programme to clear the body of toxins
and heavy metals. It involves a specific, easy-to-follow diet with amazing visible results in the short term. This diet
can be considered as:
1. a primary prevention plan against diseases in general
2. an exceptionally effective, simple, non-invasive and completely natural slimming system
3. an extraordinary purifying and detoxifying programme for your body
4. a powerful support to be used alongside medical treatments for particular illnesses. In this case
medical supervision is required
5. a programme to boost your energy and vitality.
INTRODUCTION
The Tisama Alkaline Method is based on the study of Hyperacidity and Acid-Base Balance
and the importance of this mechanism in all metabolic and physiological processes.
. In order for this mechanism to remain balanced the body must have an alkaline blood pH, i.e. greater than 7. To compensate the
excess of acids in the tissues, our body uses so-called “buffer” systems and the most common ones are breathing, perspiration,
salivation, excretion of faeces and urine and obviously sebum.
However, when these mechanisms are not sufficient to balance any excess acids in the tissues, the body is forced to steal alkaline
reserves, i.e. minerals, from all the body’s reserves, such as bones, nails, muscles, venous capillaries, teeth etc., gradually depleting them. This introduction is necessary to explain why the Tisama Alkaline Method adopts specific alkaline dietary supplements
to support an extremely remineralising diet.
When one part of the body is damaged the others try to compensate its function. Even if this may cause damage in the long term,
the body’s immediate priority is survival. Food continuously produces acid waste that is added to that produced by cellular metabolism and the body does its best to eliminate it.
If the body does not have sufficient alkaline reserves (bicarbonates) it cannot totally eliminate the acids. What is the long term
damage of this strategic process? Blood thickens and circulation slows down to the point that it does not supply sufficient oxygen
and nutrients to vital organs, thus causing different types of illnesses and finally death. This result is inevitable when the acid-base
imbalance is caused by an excess of acid. The body requires external help to increase the alkaline level and restore the acid-base balance.
WHY SHOULD YOU FOLLOW THIS METHOD?
If the body is too acid it will start defending itself by creating specific substances such as mucus and cholesterol; then due to a deficiency in minerals, the true driving force of the entire body, it will decide to recover
energy by lowering the immune system.
This deficiency will pave the way for numerous bacteria and viruses that survive and become stronger in an
acidic environment, causing numerous illnesses.

The Tisama Alkaline Method is effective if some simple instructions are followed. If you follow the suggestions only in part or
not correctly you will prejudice the effectiveness of the method. We therefore recommend that you read the instructions below
carefully.

Always read the label before buying a
product
Do not trust the appearance of a product or products that state
that they are “sugar-free”, “light” or “diet” or those that call themselves Organic, Natural, Vegan or those without certifications
or with the writing whole grain ... always check for example
the presence of excess carbohydrates and sugar in the nutrition label; check that all the ingredients are to your liking; in the
case of carbohydrates check that they are whole grain and
choose whole grain carbohydrates such as rice, spelt, kamut or
barley ... because they are not so easy to manipulate and they
are actually visible and recognisable. To be on the safe side
choose quinoa, millet and amaranth.
The 3 phases of the Tisama Alkaline Method
A. TRANSITION PHASE
The Tisama Alkaline Method foresees a first transition phase, during which an 80/20 regimen is recommended, in relation to
your level of motivation and to the relationship you have with acidifying food. The 80% part includes healthy alkalising food and
the 20% part includes not very healthy acidifying food. The Tisama Alkaline Method also recommends drinking or eating acidifying substances preferably at breakfast time so you will have more hours to eliminate them during the day. This phase lasts from
4 to 8 weeks, the time necessary to get used to the new diet. This phase is followed by an intensive one. The transition phase can
obviously be extended if necessary; the Tisama Alkaline Method is NOT a diet and if you decide to follow it you must feel free.
This is a functional system that offers some flexibility as well as visible results that can also be confirmed for example by blood tests.
B. INTENSIVE PHASE
The Tisama Alkaline Method includes a second phase: the intensive phase; this phase is all the more necessary if your health is
at risk, if you suffer from annoying and debilitating symptoms or simply if you want to try and see what happens.... This diet will
change your perception of food and of your health, you will feel full of energy and ever so healthy; bloatedness, headaches and
inflammations will be distant memories and your skin will immediately reveal your newfound health by regaining tone and brightness. The intensive phase is not essential but if you wish to move onto this phase it foresees a 100/0 Alkaline diet, i.e. entirely
alkaline; later on we will explain what this type of diet entails.
C. MAINTENANCE PHASE
The final phase is the maintenance phase (for example like the 80/20 Transition phase) in which acid food can be occasionally
and moderately introduced. It is important to note that during the new Tisama Alkaline diet your body becomes “CLEANER” and
less inclined to withstand any excess of ACID food, therefore it will not welcome unhealthy food. This mechanism reminds your
body’s memory that much of the food you normally eat is not useful as it does not provide nutrients, that it does not make the body
healthier or stronger but actually intoxicates it. A simple formula to follow could be that of the 1-3 or 1-4 up to the 1-6 if you are
highly motivated. What does it mean? It means you should simply eat a moderate amount of acid food one day and then detoxify
for the following days before introducing other acid food. For example in the 1-4 case a dinner with acid food must be followed
by 4 days of only alkaline food or at least by an 80/20 diet which is easy to follow and detoxifying.
This approach does not exclude obviously that during an “ACID” lunch or dinner you can eat green vegetables (even better if
raw) to partially compensate the acid food. Remember that you should always eat fruit between meals to avoid it remaining in the
digestive system too long which causes bloatedness and fermentation; we recommend eating fruit at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

SUBSTANCES TO AVOID OR LIMIT
SUBSTANCES TO AVOID
SUGARS: all types, therefore also all the food that contains sugar even in small
amounts; for example avoid eating sugar-free sweets or food. Sugar can normally be found under different names such as sucralose, maltitol, xylitol, sorbitol, glucose syrups etc ... This can help you to identify them in the nutrition tables.
CARBOHYDRATES: all types, such as pasta, bread, pizza, biscuits and other
food containing flour, in particular white “0” and “00” flour obtained from wheat; kamut, spelt and whole grain flours in general can be eaten in moderation.
STARCHES: white starches should be avoided because they are metabolised
into sugar and on average they have a higher glycemic index than pasta. The
only exception to this is food like quinoa, amaranth and millet; they are gluten-free therefore they are digestible and they are a great source of vegetable
proteins, necessary for a correct and balanced diet. A golden rule is to always
check the nutrition tables of the products you purchase to understand what they
contain.
SOFT DRINKS: avoid all soft drinks such as orangeade, Coca Cola or similar
products as they often contain 10% sugar! Also avoid LIGHT soft drinks because they are not completely sugar-free and they are also highly ACIDIFYING.
ALCOHOLIC DRINKS: avoid all alcoholic drinks, spirits, wine and its derivatives (e.g. wine vinegar contains more sugar than wine).
FRIED FOOD: processed, pre-cooked, packaged food with too many ingredients, which imply industrial processing.
LIGHT, SUGAR-FREE OR DIET FOOD
RED MEAT: it is highly acidifying; also avoid crustaceans because they contain
sugar and they are ACIDIFYING.
SEITAN: it is acidifying as it is mainly obtained from gluten and therefore it is
difficult to digest.
CHEESE: all dairy cheese is acidifying and produces mucus. If you wish to eat
cheese choose fresh goat’s cheese and goat ricotta, which are easy to digest as
they do not contain lactose. If necessary you can eat them a few times a week.
MILK: and all dairy products due to the presence of lactose and casein which
are NON-digestible. Cow’s milk is difficult to digest and assimilate because
after the weaning period our body does not produce the lactase enzyme necessary to digest it.

FISH: rather acidifying. If possible choose oily fish, because it has a lower
level of acidity and it is rich in Omega 3 and 6, important antioxidants.
Eat it 1-2 times a week, steamed or cooked in the oven with different vegetables to compensate the induced acidity.
WHITE MEAT: it is acidifying. Eat as little as possible and if possible avoid
it especially if you do not know the origin of the poultry or meat.
TOFU: it is slightly acidifying. Eat it a few times a week, steamed or grilled,
if you wish.
EGGS: only eat a few eggs a week. Egg white is slightly acidifying therefore it is better to eat the yolk. Eat the eggs boiled, bain-marie or fried. Limit the
consumption of eggs as much as possible.
DRESSINGS: use lemon juice or Tamari (soy sauce). Extra Virgin Olive Oil
is excellent as well as all cold pressed vegetable oils for food use: sesame,
flax, hemp and argan. Digestive spices are very useful: coriander, cinnamon, cardamom, turmeric, ginger as well as herbs like oregano, marjoram,
mint, sage, rosemary, thyme and chilli. Limit the use of traditional salt and
use unrefined salt or rock salt such as pink Himalayan salt.

HERBAL DRINKS AND DIETARY SUPPLEMENTS TO TAKE DURING THE TISAMA ALKALINE METHOD
MORNING
Prepare one 1.5 litre bottle of good quality** mineral WATER or treated and/or ionised tap water to be drunk throughout the
day and add:
1 x 20 ml measure of the herbal drink 712 KAPHA DREN (if drainage is needed)
1 x 20 ml measure of the herbal drink 702 DEPUR - DIGEST (very important for its purifying action)
1 x 20 ml measure of the herbal drink 721 SLIM (*if you need to slim)
25 drops of AQUA ALCALIZER*, to increase the pH value
25 drops of MAGNESIUM CHLORURE*, to boost the immune system
**The water you should drink throughout the day should not, and must not, be a “generic” water...Many of the waters sold have
characteristics that are not useful for the body and therefore they are not useful as part of this diet. Water accounts for 70% of
body weight and in some cases such as the eyes or brain, it reaches very high percentages even over 90% ... it is also an ideal
platform for the transmission of all the electrical and chemical impulses that our body produces and uses to exchange information
between the cells, organs and systems, including enzymes and hormones. This is why it is fundamental to carefully select the water
you drink. If the water you drink has an acid pH, high conductivity or a very high fixed residue, it can no longer be considered
as hydrating and nourishing; this is not an exaggeration if you consider water as nourishment, probably the most important and
irreplaceable nourishment for your health.
The three criteria to define good quality water are:
pH greater than 7, which can be slightly modified using the pH corrector — Acqua Alcalizer
Electric conductivity indicated as POR, as close as possible to zero “0”
Fixed residue between 100 and 200 and less than 50 for children.
Drink 1 heaped teaspoon (3 grams) of SUPER GREEN CHLOROPHYLL in a glass of hot water and lemon. Please note that SUPER

DURING THE DAY
• If you need vitamin supplements take 3 tablets a day of MULTIVIT POWER (multivitamin and multimineral supplement), preferably 1 tablet after each main meal. Multivit Power is sugar-free and therefore it is low-calorie.
• Water should be considered as FOOD rather than a drink. It is important to drink at least 30 ml of water per Kg of body
weight per day, (for example, if you weigh 50 kg you must drink at least 1.5 litres of water). Daily you can even drink 1 or 2
litres of alkalised still water in which you dilute the herbal drinks for a daily total of at least 3 or 4 litres of water a day; your
body will thank you.
• Only use excellent vegetable oils for your food such as extra virgin olive oil (monounsaturated), borage oil, sesame oil, flax
oil, argan oil, hemp oil, etc. (polyunsaturated) as long as they are organic and cold pressed. Saturated fats such as margarine
and similar products are not suitable.
• The first few days of the programme you may feel a little tired; in this case you can take 1 x 20 ml measure of the herbal drink
713 ENERGY in the morning and 1 x 20 ml measure at noon for a total of 2 measure to be drunk in addition to and separately
from to the herbal drinks mentioned above (only if necessary).
AT NIGHT
• After dinner drink 1 heaped teaspoon of BASIC PLUS in a glass of hot water and lemon. This incredible alkalising supplement
reduces the level of acidity caused by your body during the day.
• In case of constipation take 1 x 20 ml measure of the herbal drink 708 Regular at night in a glass of warm water; make sure
you drink plenty of water throughout the day. In you follow the diet there will be no sign of peristaltic laziness and evacuation
will always be regular and daily.

Further advice
• Remember that the power of the digestive fire, according to Ayurveda, is greater when the sun is at its Zenith and therefore the
lunchtime meal should be the most important. In the evening your meal should be lighter because at night the body regenerates
itself and does not need too much food or too many acids ... If your Pitta, your digestive power, is very high, you can also follow
the saying “eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper”.
• You can always add lemon or Basic Plus to alkalise your water, especially after dinner before you go to bed.
• Idea for an aperitif! Juice from half a lemon in a glass of warm or cold water in the summer months is very nice and thirst quenching and also helps your physiology.
• Spices are very important to stimulate the digestive fire and for a good digestion: ginger, turmeric, cumin, sage, rosemary, oregano, chilli, pepper, thyme and cinnamon, are just a few examples, there is no limit to creativity in the kitchen.
• Use conventional salt sparingly as it retains fluids. If possible use unrefined sea salt and pink Himalayan salt that provide important nutrients and have a less salty taste that enhances the flavours.
• Chew food for a long time before swallowing it. Salivary glands must have time to alkalise the food; furthermore if you swallow
too quickly, the satiety receptors in the mouth, fail to inform the body that you are eating an actual meal, this will cause excessive
hunger and an excessive ingestion of food not functional to our needs ... chewing gives a feeling of satiety and of being full.

The importance of water as a nutrient
