We teach girls about their place in, and their
obligations towards, the wider world with charity
days, ensuring they do not become too parochial
in outlook. Extra-curricular activities play a major
role in school life too, again challenging the girls to
look at new subjects and pursuits within a totally
supportive environment, be they artistic, sporting
or musical.
The performing arts are a wonderful method of
building self-confidence in the young girls at the
School. Individual music lessons, the school

orchestra, choir and string sections offer a chance
for those of a musical bent, while dance is taught
both as part of PE and in extra-curricular clubs
at lunchtime.
Sport plays a big part in school life too, with five
periods of specialist PE teaching and a number of
extra-curricular clubs every week.We look to
nurture a love of sport for its own sake so that
girls can find activities which they enjoy and will
continue to pursue. Bringing enjoyment and
enthusiasm to sport is a central aim.

As they enter Year 6, girls are encouraged to learn
independently as well as in the classroom, this is
the ideal preparation for senior school, with project
work being set, work which is individually driven.
