I hadn’t been thinking about the col lection, much less that promise, and was completely unprepared for the photos that fol lowed. Suzanne and I visited the family in nor thern Connecticut soon af ter. It was astonishing to realize that I had passed within a mile of this amazing selection of ceramics perhaps a hundred times on trips to the Brimfield show and beyond. We are delighted to of fer the personal col lection of Ar thur E. Baggs, including his vases; an array of rare tiles; original ar t work both for vases and tiles; oils, water colors, gouaches and more. There is so little “undiscovered” material remaining from the Ar ts and Craf ts Movement. We hope you enjoy the oppor tunity to see this col lection as much as we have the oppor tunity to handle it and bring it to sale.
