A TriStation 1131 project contains all
of the elements required to implement a safety or control application
in a Triconex controller. Some of
these elements are automatically included in every project by TriStation
1131, while others are user created.
Programming Languages
TriStation includes IEC1131-3 compliant
programming languages: Function
Block Diagram, Structures Test, and
Ladder Diagram.

Reports and Documentation
TriStation 1131 includes multiple methods
of sorting data and documenting project
elements, both during and after project
development. Printouts of user-developed
function blocks and programs can be
obtained on a variety of user selected
engineering drawing templates. Standard
reports are available to document the
project configuration data. You can also
create customized reports with Crystal Reports™.
User Access
TriStation 1131 provides the ability to configure multiple users with different privilege levels to access
various functions.
Project History
An audit trail function is provided to document the history of a project and its program version
changes. This detailed log keeps track of user actions and comments by automatically timestamping
critical events within a session and manually logging user comments on demand.
Annotations
Annotations can be added to constants, tagnames, and variables. An annotation can be used to
display descriptive text, including information specified in system and user-modifiable macros. You
can also display the value of a variable during program execution.
Comments
Comments can be added to programs, functions, and function blocks to add information about the
operations.
Help Documentation
TriStation 1131 has an online Help system which provides detailed information about using TriStation
1131 and its features.

•• Enhanced Sequence of Events (SOE) functionality with support for primary and redundant
SOE blocks
•• Improvements to library management, including the ability to add a library in the Download
Changes state, and make partial library changes
•• Support for up to 63 Trident and Triconex General Purpose System controllers
•• Enhanced Project History log now includes entries for when you enable, disable, or force points,
allowing you to keep track of when these kinds of changes were made, and who made them
•• Improved security features include Windows user authentication, user access logs, and more,
per NERC Cyber Security standards
•• Introduction of the new ALARMS library, which includes function blocks used for process
alarms. See the TriStation 1131 Libraries Reference for more information
•• Ability to find/replace variable names and comments within selected text in programs
•• Addition of a new Print All command, providing the ability to print multiple project documents at
once, including programs, functions, libraries, module configurations, project history, and more
•• Upgrading projects from previous versions of TriStation 1131 (4.1 or later) no longer require
changing the project state to Download All
Project Compatibility
Project file conversion supports backwards compatibility to TriStation 1131 v2.0.
Emulator Panel
The Emulator Panel allows you to connect to the Emulator, download, test, and debug the application
control program. The Emulator Panel allows you to monitor tagnames, disable and force values.
Controller Panel
The Controller Panel allows connection to the controller for real-time execution of the application.
