Dear F riends of S t. P aul Lutheran S chool,
Welcome to our 13th Annual S t. P aul Lutheran S chool Auction and Benefit Dinner.
It is our desire to make this a fun-filled evening. If y ou have any questions or if
we can be of assistance, please feel free to speak to a member of our A uction
Committee or to a faculty member. We are here to serv e you.
Our committee inv ites y ou to join us “Carry the Torch and Light the Way.” There
are many elegant decorations and a great dinner menu that w ill hopefully make
your evening enjoy able. The numerous items available at tonight’s auction are
sure to test your bidding skills.
U nder G od’s direction and blessing, S t. Paul Lutheran C hurch and S chool
continue to prov ide a C hrist-centered env ironment w here students are prepared
spiritually and scholastically for their futures. P roceeds from last year’s Auction
were used to prov ide a Reading Resource Teacher, specialty teachers, prov ide a
Christ-centered education for more young students through scholarship funding,
and other items to benefit our students. This year we are looking to continue
the tradition of prov iding these resources and the Class Basket revenue will go
toward the replacement of some of our playground equipment.
S pecial thanks are expressed to all w ho helped w ith this event. P lease consider
supporting the businesses and individuals who w ere able to help us w ith their
donations.

Mission
The mission of St. Paul Lutheran School is to “provide a Christcentered environment where students are prepared spiritually and
scholastically for their future.”
Philosophy and Purpose
The educational philosophy of St. Paul Lutheran School is an
integrated set of beliefs used to interpret, determine, and
evaluate educational objectives, practices, outcomes, needs, and
study materials.
The purpose of St. Paul Lutheran School is to provide a setting
wherein children receive daily instruction in the Word of God and
instruction in a ll other subjects in the light of God's Word.
In Scripture we find the following mandates:
“Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it.”

The Silent Auction will take place in the 1st-8th grade classrooms.
Silent Auction rules are found on page 9. On page 10, you will
find a list of the silent auction rooms and their respective closing
times. If you have any questions an Oly mpic Tea m me mber is
available in all classrooms to help you. Complime ntary beverages
and hors d’oeuvres will be served during this time for your
enjoyment. Silent Auction rooms will begin closing at 6:15 p.m.

Be ready to bid! Have your bid number in hand because the Live
Auction will begin immediately following dinner. Live Auction
Rules are found on page 65. The list of Live auction ite ms begins
on page 67.

Silent Auction Rules
The Silent Auction will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the classrooms listed on
the following page. Items that were donated after April 18, 2008
may not appear in this book , but are on display in the rooms. All
items in the Silent Auction hav e a bid sheet attached to the table in
front of them. Persons wishing to bid must do so by writing in ALL
information on the bid sheet.
No bid may be cancelled once it is entered.
All items may be bid on until the room closes. The closing times are
listed on the following page with the room descriptions. The closing
announcement will be made on the PA sy stem. No bids may be
entered after the announcement has been made.
Each new bid must increase the amount of the prev ious bid by at
least $1.00 or the bid is v oid.

When the Silent Auction is closed, a listing of your winning Silent
Auction bids will be deliv ered to y ou at your table in the form of a
preliminary sales inv oice. A final sales inv oice will be prov ided to
you at the cashier’s table. Once pay ment has been made, y our bid
number can no longer be used.
The cashier’s table will not open for checkout until the conclusion of
the Liv e Auction.
Pay ment in full may be made tonight, or Sunday , May 4, 2008 by
cash, check , VISA or MasterCard.
After y our sales inv oice is mark ed PAID, present it to the attendant
in the pick-up area to collect your items. No item may be remov ed
before the auction has ended.
All items not tak en this ev ening must be remov ed Sunday , May 4,
2008 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Buy ers must mak e their
own arrangements to pick up and transport items.

The Liv e Auction will begin at 8:00 p.m. in the gy mnasium following
the dinner and will continue until all items hav e been sold.
Please show y our bid number located on the bid card receiv ed at the
front door when bidding. Let the spotters see that y ou wish to mak e
a bid.
All sales are final as per the auctioneer’s discretion.
A sales inv oice for all Silent and Liv e Auction items will be giv en to
you at the cashier’s table. Pay ment in full may be made tonight or
Sunday , May 4, 2008 by cash, check , VISA, or MasterCard.
The cashier’s table will not be open for check out until the conclusion
of the Liv e Auction. Once pay ment has been made, your bid number
can no longer be used.
When items are purchased jointly by multiple bidders, the item will
be charged to only one bid number.
After sales inv oice is mark ed PAID, present it to the attendant in the
pick -up area to collect your items. No item may be remov ed before
the auction has ended.
Class Baskets
Each St. Paul Lutheran School class se lected an attraction within
Olympic Village as inspiration for a “basket” of items to be
auctioned this evening. The items filling the baskets were
donated by the students and their families as they relate to the
chosen theme. This was intended to allow the students to
become even more involved in the major fund-ra iser for their
school. The Class Baskets will be auctioned as listed with the Live
Auction ite ms. The highest bidder will have their choice of the
baskets. Take a look at these great baskets before the auction
