THE YORKTOWN BULLETIN Child Development Center & Youth Center YORKTOWN YOUTH CENTER YORKTOWN CDC We offer the following special programs for youth and their families after hours. These programs occur quarterly: Hours of Operation: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily Open to ages six weeks to five years Dances, movie nights, multi-cultural celebrations, parenting information classes and more. Open Recreation Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and the fourth Saturday of each month from noon to 4 p.m. Daily Schedules Schedules are posted inside each classroom. Schedules are flexible to give caregivers the freedom necessary to respond to children's individual needs and provides parents with general times for activities. Parent Involvement Board The Parent Involvement Board (PIB) allows parents a voice in the care of their children. The board meets quarterly with regularly scheduled meetings. The PIB acts in a supportive capacity and does not engage in the management or operations of the child and youth programs. Cheatham Lake Crappie Tournament March 15 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cheatham Lake $20 per boat (maximum of two people per boat). Plaques will be awarded for the biggest individual fish and first place team. No live bait and a three fish limit. Preregistration is required. There will be a hot dog cookout after the tournament. Call 887-7224 for details. 5 THE YORKTOWN BULLETIN Food & Beverage 4th STREET GRILLE AND RECREATION CENTER CHEATHAM ANNEX, BLDG. 236 4th Street Grill is open from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. for breakfast. The menu is varied with assorted breakfast fare that is sure to please any pallet. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Lunch menu items include burgers, salads, paninis and more. The center is Wi-Fi capable, has free pool tables as well as an internet café. Xbox and PS3 stations with up-to-date video games are also available. The 4th Street Liberty program works in tandem with City Limits to provide quality of life events for our single Sailors and Marines. ck Bar CITY LIMITS NWS YORKTOWN, BLDG. 2006 City Limits Snack Bar offers a variety of delicious and fast menu items to dine in or to carry out. Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and includes biscuits and gravy, omelets, our signature “Big Breakfast” and assorted breakfast sandwiches. Call ahead orders are always welcome! Lunch is served between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. As with the breakfast menu, items are available for dining in or carry out. Lunch Items include, but are not limited to, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, Angus burgers, grilled chicken, hot wings, chicken tenders and many other items that are served hot and fast. Our home cooked lunch special is definitely a crowd pleaser! City Limits Single Sailor/Marine program offers a variety of activities geared to providing a safe and relaxing experience for our men and women in uniform. Special events are planned throughout the year and include free summer cookouts, field trips, shopping excursions and sporting events, both local and national. National Fun Days including National Peanut Butter Day, Milkshake Day and Cookie Day are celebrated at this facility with free giveaways to our patrons. City Limits also offers a recreation facility that houses a 50-seat movie theater, internet café, a PS3 and XBox game area with up-to-date games as well as a large screen TV viewing area to just sit back and unwind. Deployed resiliency counselors will provide a variety of psycho-educational workshops on core issues, such as sexual assault, suicide prevention, and various wellness and resiliency topics. Workshop offerings may include stress management, anger management, effective communication, parenting education, operational stress control, successful adaptation to military life, and child abuse or domestic abuse identification/prevention and interpersonal violence. Social workers, marriage and family therapists, and psychologists are encouraged to apply. Applicants must have a master’s degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, or a doctorate in psychology with a state licensure for independent practice, with two years of post-licensure experience.
