Chemical Program
Each season we offer customers the opportunity to

Brunswick Electrical Seminars
Due to the blizzard conditions on February 18th and 19th,
we had to postpone this seminar. We have rescheduled
the A/A2 Electrical Seminar for April 9th from 9:00
AM-4:00 PM at Sunset Lanes, 620 Highway 75 North,
Moorhead, MN 56560.
A second seminar has now been scheduled for April 8th.
This will be held at Whitetail Lanes, 3689 Highway Q,
Amherst Junction, WI 54407.
Instructor Jeff Reese from Brunswick has over 40
years of experience in the bowling business and is an
expert pinsetter mechanic. Bring your own meter and
learn how to troubleshoot and repair any issue on the

Consumer Goods Updates
~ Update Continued ~
With the prime selling season on its last leg, we have
been dealing with our annual challenge of maintaining
sufficient stock to fill orders while minimizing our
exposure to being overstocked during the upcoming
sluggish period. This challenge is compounded with
products becoming unavailable from the manufacturers.
While we are never completely satisfied, with few
exceptions in each category our inventory is in very
good shape. In addition, we have been focusing on
uncovering potential inventory issues with our vendors
so our customer service staff can advise as needed.
Shoes – As reported last month, we believe there likely
will not be an Etonic Bowling Shoe line for the 20132014 season. Since that writing there have been two
new developments. On March 13th we were informed
David Ozio, former General Manager for Etonic
Worldwide, is no longer with the company. Then on
March 26th we were notified Lotto Sports is in the final
stages of shutting down their bowling shoe operation
and liquidating any remaining Etonic bowling stock.
Based on this, we will continue to offer our remaining
Etonic inventory at 20% off Level 1 prices, with the
exception of the men’s Strike Back (ET-305-1) which
we are offering at 30% off. In the Brunswick shoe line,
the most significant problem is with the Flyer black wide
width. The shoes we have on order with the vendor
for this model in sizes 9.5 and larger are not projected
to arrive before May. In the Dexter line, as reported
last month, we have very limited stock available for the
Ricky black medium width with no additional arrivals
forecasted.
Balls – With the exception of three Roto Grip balls,
we remain in overall very good shape with no other
significant issues to report. The three Roto balls are the
Defiant Soul, Disturbed, and Wrecker. We currently
have stock in the Disturbed, however, on the shipments
in route to us they once again backordered these balls.
As of this writing we are temporarily out of 15# in
both the Wrecker and Defiant Soul. The good news
is they are both in route to us with projected arrival of
April 2nd.
We suggest you “X” out the following

Bags – With the exception of some bags not remaining
in the line with vendors having no remaining stock, we
are generally in good shape. The Storm line presents
the greatest challenge in providing precise projections.
In large part this is due to their filling backorders
through allocation and they cannot even guarantee the
allocation quantity. With that said, the major issue is
now mostly limited to the Rolling Thunder models.
We are receiving our next allocation the week of April
1st. We believe even after this shipment the one bag
that will remain in a negative stock status is the 3-Ball
Roller Grey/Red/White (S-37123).

Here we are coming to the end of another bowling
season. It is time to think of what work you are going
to do on the machines this summer. Cleaning is the first
thing that makes a machine run smoother. This year I am
spending time in the distributor. I am going to lube free
bushings in the Distributor Pinion Gear. Replacement
Nylon Bushings (070009893) cost $15.15. If you want
to replace all 10 parts in the clutch, you can order kit
number 612700001 for $60.43 This kit includes all
the parts that are in the clutch. It is a good kit to have
on hand. The next item to look at is the belt. Inspect
the lacing for wear and cracks in the belt at the lacing.
Everyone has their own preference as to which belt
is the best, and there are a variety of belts available
which we stock. The next item is an Orientation Pan
Wipe (070011910) which cost $23.21. They are used
to keep the pins clean and slow the pin down for fewer
jams on the Orientation Pan. Finally look at the Drive
Shaft, U-Joint and Drive Housing. Any signs of wear
means you need to replace that part.

“For those centers that have A-2 pinsetters, the
new Preference Kit from Kegel is a no brainer. This
kit eliminates all of the OEM parts but 1 on the odd
lane and replace the bumper on the even lane with a
magnetic bumper. Along with fewer parts to inventory,
what I like about the kit is the elimination of the silver
and black brackets. As you know, these parts have metal
on metal ware points to cause failure and that has been
eliminated. Also the ball track support wear has been
eliminated as well. The other thing that is great about
this kit is the magnetic bumper for the even lane. The
magnet will completely do away with the preference
locked ball calls and the need to purchase or make your
own preference brakes. This product will be installed
across my center and all my preference issues will be
