Actinidia kolomikta
Actinidia kolomikta ‘Krupnoplodnaja’
(large fruited)
Hardy Female Kiwi Vine
A heavy fruiting female cultivar of hardy Kiwi
capable of setting fruit here in New England.
This Russian cultivar is hardy and late to
emerge, sparing it from spring frosts that can
harm new growth and flower buds.
20’ Z 3-8
Actinidia kolomikta ‘Red Beauty’
Hardy Female Kiwi Vine
This female cultivar produces small, smooth
fruit the size of a grape in late fall. A male pollinator like ‘Arctic Beauty’ is required for fruit.
The foliage turns to deep red after a hard frost.

Warm mango-orange flowers cover the plant
from June-September, attracting hummingbirds and butterflies to the garden. Sturdy,
compact habit holds its shape even in bloom.

Allium schoenoprasum ‘Rising Star’
Ornamental Onion or Chives
A fine-textured selection of Chives that only
grows 1ft. tall. Rosy-pink flowers from late
May-August are neatly held above the foliage.
The foliage color leans toward grey-green.
1’ Z 3-9
Allium schoenoprasum ‘Snowcap’
Ornamental Onion or Chives
Pristine white flowers shine in the garden over
the fine green foliage. Compact habit, growing
only to a little over 1 ft. tall. ‘Snowcap’ blooms
for an extended period and will re-bloom
throughout the summer if deadheaded.

Allium senescens ‘Pink Planet’
Ornamental Onion
Pale-pink to purple flowers open in
August and hold well into the fall. Compact growing to only 1 ft., the flattened,
slightly twisted gray-green foliage looks
handsome all season. Semi-sterile so it
won’t pop up everywhere.
1’ Z 3-9
Alyssum wulfenianum ‘Golden Spring’
Madwort
Spreading evergreen foliage slowly
forms a nice groundcover in a rock
garden or at the garden’s edge. Large
yellow flowers cover the plant in April.
A nice improvement over the species and
well suited to our New England gardens.
6” Z 4-9
Aquilegia vulgaris Clementine series
Double Columbine
We love the upward facing, double
flowers on this vigorous series and
have added two colors: Dark Purple and
Blue. Both colors are very popular with
Allium senescens
customers buying Columbine.
1-2’ Z 3-8
Armeria pseudarmeria ‘Ballerina Red’
Thrift
Compared to Armeria splendens types,
‘Ballerina Red’ is a larger plant in both
foliage and flower production. Strap-like
foliage forms a medium mound with
stiff flower stems growing well above
the foliage. Long blooming and floriferous. Evergreen in warmer areas.
1-1.5’ Z 4-9
Aruncus ‘Horatio’
Goat’s Beard
Growing as tall as it is wide at 4’x4’,
‘Horatio’ looks nice both in and out
of bloom. In June the red stems are
topped with compact, creamy-white
flowers that don’t cause the stems to
bend. After blooming the stems and foliage turn a deep green and hold cleanly
until frost. A large but refined plant,
even when planted in partial shade.
4’ Z 4-9
Aruncus ‘Johannisfest’
Goat’s Beard
We consider ‘Johannisfest’ a medium-sized Aruncus because of the compact, finely cut foliage that holds well
in a neat mound. In June the airy-white
flowers open above the foliage on long
stems. Hardy and long-lived.
3-4’ Z 4-9
Asclepias speciosa
Showy Milkweed
This western US native closely resem-bles our native A. syriaca but is a
better garden plant. It does not spread
to form colonies like the native species
does. The sap is also less toxic. What
are similar are the clusters of rose-pink
flowers that give way to large, cottony
seedpods in the fall. An important plant
for Monarch butterflies.

Aster alpinus X series
Alpine Aster
Vigorous plants produce double flowers
beginning in late-May over compact
plants. Because they are produced vegetatively they are more vigorous than
the seed strains with single flowers.
We offer the following colors: Blue, Pink,
White.
1-2’ Z 4-9
Astilbe thunbergii ‘Chocolate Shogun’
False Spirea
Shiny deep burgundy foliage holds its
color all season long. White-blush pink
flowers are held loosely over the foliage
beginning in late June. This is the darkest Astilbe to hit the market so far.
2’Mid-late
Aster
ageratoides ‘Starshine’
Astrantia major ‘Star of Billion’
Masterwort
We discovered another Astrantia that
flowers well during the heat of summer.
‘Star of Billion’ produces silvery-white
flowers over the foliage from June-September. A good choice to brighten up a
shady area.
1-2’ Z 4-7
Baptisia Decadence Series
False Indigo
All of the Decadence series were bred
by Walters Gardens and introduced in
the Proven Winner line. They were bred

well-branched plants.
Cherries Jubilee- maroon and yellow
flowers on strong stems.
Dutch Chocolate-chocolate-purple flowers
on upright stems above the foliage.

2.5-3’ Z 4-9
Calamintha nepeta ‘Montrose White’
Cat Mint
A sterile selection that will not re-seed
like ‘White Cloud’ can. Upright habit
with minty foliage producing clouds of
white flowers all summer. One of the
longest blooming perennials we grow.
The flowers are attractive to all sorts of
bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
1-2’ Z 4-9

Carex EverColor Series
Japanese Sedge
Via the FitzGerald Nursery of Ireland
comes this new series of Japanese
Sedge which offers a full range of
leaf colors. Gaining in popularity for

following varieties:

ivory edge. Similar to ‘Ice Dance’
‘Everillo’- longer foliage that is chartreuse
green.

green edge. Similar to ‘Evergold’

Chelone oblique ‘Tiny Tortuga’
Turtlehead
There finally is a Turtlehead compact
enough to look good on a retail table

flowers and deep green foliage in midsummer is a nice combination. Chelone is not eaten by deer and attracts
butterflies.
1.5-2’ Z 3-7

soft pink bar in each flower petal.
A compact variety that will grow to 6

we offer.

Euphorbia corollata
Flowering Spurge
Sometimes called our native “baby’s
breath” since the single white flowers
resemble baby’s breath. Native to all of
the eastern US it is able to prosper in dry
conditions where it actually looks best.
Grown in rich soil it will need support.
The white flowers appear in late June
and continue all summer. The sap is toxic
so animals leave it alone.
2-3’ Z 3-9
Festuca ovina ‘Cool as Ice’
Blue Fescue
Fine textured leaves form a medium
sized plant that looks a bit more upright
than ‘Elijah Blue’. Good heat tolerance
and even better blue color when the
weather warms up.
1-1.5’ Z 3-9
Gaura ‘Little Janie’
Wand Flower
We love ‘Rosy Jane’ with her two-toned

the most beautiful flowers of any Geum.
