The station, which aired its first broadcast in 1924, is the world’s longest continuously operating Christian radio station. The global reach of today’s KFUO likely would astound and delight its founders — the Rev. Richard T. Kretzschmar, Dr. John H.C. Fritz and the Rev. Dr. Walter A. Maier — three men who truly were broadcast pioneers. They recognized the power of the airwaves to spread the Gospel and give the church a voice beyond where it could be heard in local congregations. Today, Worldwide KFUO streams high-quality, distinctively Lutheran programming 24/7 at www.kfuo. org, which includes the line-up at KFUO-850 AM and classical music via www.classic99.com. Just last month, the station introduced “Cross Edges,” a collection of five new programs aimed at young adults and offering fresh talk about Lutheran Christianity in the 21st century. Check it out at www.kfuo.org. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We look forward to serving you!
