The awards ceremony of the 1st Packaging Innovation Awards 2016,
took place in a festive mood on Monday, March 28th, 2016 at Maroussi
Plaza auditorium in Athens. The market loudly applauded innovation
in design, materials, technology and procedures throughout the
packaging chain of products.
T
he Awards were organized by Marketing
Week, Plant Management and Self Service
magazines of Boussias Communications,
with the cooperation of the Association of the Greek
Manufacturers of Packaging and Materials and the
Honorary Support of the Association of Greek Plastic
Industries.
The awards Ceremony was attended by more than
170 senior business executives, advertising agencies,
creative agencies, designers and representatives of all
involved professional associations.
At the opening of the Awards Ceremony the President of the
Judging Committee, Dr. Michael Kontominas, Professor in the
Department of Chemistry, University of Ioannina addressed all
attendees. In his speech, he stressed that the warm response
of all companies operating across the Packaging Chain in the
Packaging Innovation Awards 2016 demonstrates the need to
place their relevant actions and initiatives in noble competition,
concluding that «this institution enhances the competitiveness
of enterprises and provides an important supporter of the
winners in the promotion, marketing and expansion of their
efforts to continuously improve their products.»

Awards and Honors Distinctions
In Packaging Innovation Awards companies from a wide range of business
participated and were awarded. In the different awards categories, GOLD
prize was awarded to the following companies: Dolphins/Communication
Design, 2YOLK, PAPERPACK & FOLBY, The BrandHouse, Yonas Design
- Psimitis SA - Forlabels S.A., Metaxa House, EMVIODIAGNOSTIKI - KM
creative, Abc Design communication and Red Design Consultants.
The Metaxas House won the ‘Best in Show Award’, as it received the
highest score of all participations.
All awarded companies participating in the Packaging Innovation Awards
2016 are given the opportunity to become candidates and claim awards
in the leading Global institution WORLDSTAR PACKAGING AWARDS 2017,
organized by the WORLD PACKAGING ORGANISATION. Representative
of the organization in Greece is the the Association of the Greek
Manufacturers of Packaging and Materials (SYVIPYS).
