13th EUROPEAN MARS SOCIETY CONFERENCE (EMC13)
The 13th European Mars Society Conference will be organized by the Planet Mars association:
From Friday the 25th of October (2 p.m.) to Sunday the 27th of October (5 p.m.)
In the IPSA (Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées) Paris facilities, Air and Space
engineering school.

PRELIMINARY PROGRAM
-Opening : status of Mars programs and knowledge (Friday afternoon)
-Humans to Mars (Saturday morning)
-Robotic missions (Saturday afternoon)
-Parisian evening (Saturday evening)
-Exploration and simulations (Sunday morning)
-The Mars Societies and promotion for Mars exploration (Sunday afternoon)
A detailed program will be published later on.
The presentations will be conducted in english

INSCRIPTIONS FEES
Mars Society (and chapters) members: 40 euros
Non-members :70 euros
Take the opportunity to become a member and get the reduction in fees.
Students or less than 25 years old: half fee thus 20 euros for members and 35 euros for non
members
An extra cost of 10 euros will be applied to the inscriptions done on spot during the conference
Parisian evening: 50 euros for conference members, 60 euros for non conference members
(for this evening the inscriptions will be closed the 15th of September 21st of October)

It will be possible to cancel the participation to the conference or Parisian evening till
the 16th of September by e-mail or letter (post office stamp certifying the date). A penalty will
be applied: 5 euros for the conference (files costs), 10 euros for the Parisian evening (reservation
costs). The possible banks costs for international transfers will be deducted from the reimbursement.
HOTELS INFORMATION
A list of hotels is given thereafter by decreasing prices in three areas around IPSA. Naturally
owing to the access by RER C train (Ivry-sur-Seine station) and metro (Mairie d’Ivry – line 7), it will
be possible to choose any hotel in Paris.
In any case we recommend proceeding to reservations as soon as possible because hotels in
Paris are often booked up.

ACCESS TO THE CONFERENCE
By RER train:
The IPSA facilities are located at 5 mn walking distance from the RER C station Ivrysur-Seine. Warning : all the RER trains coming from stations inside Paris are not stopping at
Ivry-sur-Seine. Only the trains designated MONA or ROMI are stopping at Ivry. The train
names are indicated at the front of the train and the stations where the train will stop are also
indicated on panels on the platform. But when arriving from South of Paris (Orly airport for
example) the train names are NORA and GOTA. The way to follow when arriving from Paris
is indicated on the map below. An underground passage is located at the platform end. Turn
right (indication: Sortie rue de la gare IVRY PORT) and turn right again at the passage exit to
reach the Maurice Grandcoing street along the railway tracks, where IPSA is located.

By subway :
The closest metro station is Mairie d’Ivry located 950 m from IPSA. This station is
located on the subway line 7. This line divides in two at the station Maison Blanche and only
one train every two goes till the terminus Mairie d’Ivry. The destination Mairie d’Ivry is
indicated in front of the train and this direction is also indicated on the platform. The way to
follow is indicated on the map below.
