Built in 1992 through the Whanki Foundation after Kim Whanki passed
away, the museum focuses on commemorative activities such as
preserving, researching and exhibiting the artworks by Kim Whanki.
The museum was awarded the <Kim Swoo Geun Architecture Award>
in 1994, recognized for its artistic value.
It consists of the main building, annex buildings and the Suhyangsan
Room.

About Buk Seoul Museum of Art
Opened in September 2013, SeMA Buk Seoul is a new annex
building of Seoul Museum of Art located in northern Seoul.
It is an environmentally friendly art museum where humans, nature
and the arts exist in harmony.
SeMA Buk Seoul aims to establish itself as a public arts complex
that interacts with the visitors.
The museum was awarded the 2013 Seoul Architecture Award.

The exterior is designed to be natural and welcoming, mingling well with the surroundings, and the
inside has an open interior that gives a feeling that all the exhibition halls unite in a single space.
The museum serves as a space to communicate the culture where the museum and the park come
together and humans and nature's art breathe together.
Cultural arts tour products linking the Deungnamu Park and Buk Seoul Dream Forest can be developed.
