 Belly Dancing classes, a great way to exercise while learning a fun style of dance. Mondays and Thursdays,

Chicago Style Steppin’ classes, an urban dance that originated in Chicago and continues to evolve while

 Goju Karate classes, you will learn strong discipline, focus, control, conditioning, and balance, all while

 Basketball Skills Saturday is November 12 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Winter Haven Recreational and Cultural
Center. This FREE event is for kids ages 6-13 to learn the fundamentals of basketball to include dribbling,

 School’s Out Camp is available during public school holidays and teacher work days from 7:30 a.m. -5:30
p.m., for kids ages 6-13. Cost is $5 per day for City residents and $10 per day for Non-City residents. For more

 Band Instructional classes for all skill levels and ages meet Thursdays from 4-5:30 p.m. at WHRCC. Limited
selections of instruments are available for use at no charge.
 The Marching Wolverine Community Band program meets Sundays, 4-6 p.m. and Mondays, 5-7 p.m. at
WHRCC/Tugerson Field. It’s open to all ages and free. Earl Williams is the Director.
 Pool, foosball, and air hockey tables are available throughout the day/evening depending on scheduled

 Need a place to burn some calories and get fit at no cost? Exercise machines, a tread mill, weight benches,
squat racks and free-weights are available from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Saturday, noon–7 p.m.

 The Winter Haven community created the Council on Quality Aging to promote awareness of aging issues
and create partnerships and strategies to resolve those issues. The Council is a collaboration of city
employees, private businesses and not-for-profit organizations working together on areas of need for our local
seniors. Through the work of the Council on Quality Aging, Winter Haven is proud to have joined the
WHO/AARP Network of Age Friendly Communities. This is a 3-5 year process to assess, plan and
implement steps to make Winter Haven a community that welcomes and appropriately accommodates older
generations. The first step is to assess Winter Haven’s current status of Age Friendliness, and we need your
help to establish that baseline. If you are 50 years or older and live in the Winter Haven area, your answers

 The Senior Center is looking for certified Zumba Gold and Silver Sneakers Instructors to teach regular

 The SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) program will answer questions and provide free,

 Po-Ke-No is a great mix between cards and bingo! Join us at 10:45 a.m. on Fridays.
 The Winter Haven Shuffleboard Club meets on Wednesdays and Fridays at 1 p.m.
 Daily lunch program through Polk Elderly Services. Hot meals weekdays, 11:30 a.m. for 60 years or
older. Pre-register 9 – 11 a.m. Monday – Friday, and eat at least two meals per week. The charge is a

 Mixed Media Painting Class, alternating Mondays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. Participants bring their own

From The Outer Space Gallery
The Outer Space Gallery is pleased to present an exhibition of new works featuring Artists Trent and daughter
Harlow Manning. The father daughter show, “Inspired,” will run from October 20, 2016 – December 1, 2016.
The exhibit includes mixed media sculptures directly inspired by her and her drawings and paintings based on
her original sketches. This show will astound art lovers and inspire both young and seasoned artists.

Buddy Greene, whose stellar career in the music industry has put him on the stage with Bill & Gloria Gaither,

Siberian Virtuosi, the State Ensemble of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), is an ensemble of 11 violinists and

of the Palm Beaches
The city of Havana is home to an endless treasure chest of Art Deco art and architecture.
Discover and compare the rich cultural heritage of Palm Beach County with our closest
southern neighbor. Mural Artist and designer Sharon Koskoff was born in Brooklyn, New
York and has lived in Delray Beach, Florida since 1985. She graduated Brooklyn College as a
Fine Arts Major and New York School of Interior Design where she mastered Color Theory.
As a preservationist, she founded the Art Deco Society of the Palm Beaches (ADSPB) in 1987
and authored, Art Deco of the Palm Beaches, Arcadia Publications in 2007.

presented by Mark Tlachac, Frank Lloyd Wright Historian and Lecturer, Mark's lifelong passion for
Wright's architecture has evolved into extensive work at Florida Southern College where he lectures and
conducts tours of the campus. He has written and produced a DVD of Mr. Wright's work in Lakeland.
This presentation tells the story of how the largest collection of Frank Lloyd Wright
architecture came to be built in central Florida with discussion about the structures there.
In total there are six unique features of his work in Lakeland that appear nowhere else in
the world.
