Workwear Depot focuses on three aspects of knowledge and training:
product knowledge, customer service and providing unique workwear
solutions.
This sounds impossible, but it’s not. Every Workwear Depot has its own
embroidery and reflective tape application facility. By selecting a combination
of colours from our extensive range of products and applying your own logo
or message, you create a unique uniform without the hassles. You don’t need
to find someone to design or manufacture your uniform, you don’t have any
lead time and you don’t have to hold excess stock. There is no minimum
order quantity and you will have consistency in quality, fabric, colour
and design.
While Workwear Depot has only been around for three years, we have
been joined by some great people who have extensive industry experience
and great product knowledge. However learning never stops. All our team
members are exposed to on going product training by our suppliers and our
own experienced people, and if we don’t have the answer to your question,
we know how to get it.
We believe customer service starts with the small things that are often over
looked, like a friendly greeting for anyone visiting our stores. We talk about

Pierre Le Sueur, a prominent farmer in the KwaZulu Natal Midlands, has recently purchased the
Farmers Kit for his 20 staff.
“There really is no other way. This solution is just
what I needed. Each staff member now receives
everything that they need in one simple order and
the best thing is the kit bag! I order for my staff
twice a year, and it is so simple,” says Le Sueur.
“The personalised aspect is great. All I need to do
is send through each individuals name and sizes,

The acid resist finish is a water resistant
finish that is not destroyed by the action of
acids or other chemicals.
It prevents the fabric from being moistened by
the acids, thus making it “acid resistant”.
The finish is permanent and should not
lose its efficacy after many washes, however
the washing procedure must include a
thorough rinsing to remove any wetting
agents, followed by a hot ironing to
regenerate the finishes effect.

When choosing the right hearing protection it’s crucial that the right kind of
protection for noise levels in your workplace is provided.
Selecting the right protection means more than choosing an ear plug/ear
muff, with the right SNR it means finding the protection that is comfortable
and appropriate for the intended hazard.
When noise is too loud, it begins to kill the nerve endings in the inner ear.
Prolonged exposure to loud noise destroys nerve endings. As the number of
nerve endings decreases, so does your hearing. There is no way to restore
life to dead nerve endings; the damage is permanent.
The longer you are exposed to a loud noise, the more damaging it may be.
In addition, the closer you are to the source of intense noise, the more
damaging it is.
Hearing protectors come in two forms, earplugs and earmuffs:
Earplugs are small inserts that fit into the outer ear canal and are available
in a variety of shapes and sizes to fit individual ear canals.
Earmuffs fit over the entire outer ear to form an air seal so the entire
circumference of the ear canal is blocked, they are held in place by an
adjustable band.

A workplace respiratory hazard is anything that impairs an employee’s ability
to breathe freely and safely. Such threats might include:
dusts, mists, metal fumes, gases and vapours
The right respiratory protection is vital to prevent harmful exposure to
particles, gases and vapours.
Dust masks - the generic term for nose and mouth covers that eliminate
dust, pollen, and other airborne particulates. Those used in the medical
profession offer additional protection against some pathogens and liquid
penetration, particularly useful to safeguard against bodily fluid transfer.
Most dust masks are disposable.
Air purifying respirators - contain filters using inherent or infused
substances that specifically purify the surrounding air being breathed by the
wearer – used when oxygen levels are above 19,5%. Air purifying respirators
are more effective than dust masks as they are fitted with cartridges and/or
filters that can eliminate specific particles, gases, fumes, or other airborne
threats.
Air supplied respirators - contain their own self-contained purified air
to further protect the user against airborne hazards that are difficult to
eliminate from even purified air. These respirators are generally used in
environments where the oxygen levels are less than 19,5%.
