Introduction
Iran Export Promotion Center was founded in 1967 and was renamed Trade
Promotion Organization of Iran in 2004 after its merger with Foreign Trade
Department of the Ministry of Commerce and the Goods Procurement Center
(Bill No. 30765fT 31056 dated July 2004). In January 2004 the Council of
Ministers assigned TPO as the main organization responsible for export of non-oil
products and was set as the benchmark and reference for all organizations
institutes and governmental departments acting in commerce, trade and
services sectors.

Mission Statement
The Trade Promotion Organization of Iran is an active, cooperation-oriented
and scientific-based organization established to meet the country’s capital
strategy and is aimed at developing and supporting foreign trade and
accessing new markets in an effective and efficient manner. This organization
is commited to establishing constructive mutual conducts with trade
partners and their beneficiaries and focusing on efficient human resources
development and use of advanced technology. To support export plans and
trade infrastructure, the organization has concentrated on effective planning
and strategies and overall supervision.

The 19thAnniversary of Iran’s National Exports Day
Development of external trade and in particular exports is among the effective
factors in economic development of any country. This, in addition to economic
growth, can raise competitive capability of any country in international arena.
In 1997, the State Council of General Culture designated October 21 as the
Day of National Exports in the Islamic Republic of Iran to demonstrate the
national determination of the government and people to promote non-oil
exports and economic growth. Selection of one day of the year as the National
Day of Exports would play a significant role in export culture in our society. As
a result, Iran Trade Promotion Organization annually celebrates the National
Day of Exports in the presence of H.E. the President of Islamic Republic of
IRAN in an attempt to develop public export culture, encourage exporters
and commercial and economic activists and prominent export agencies. The
19th anniversary of Iran’s National Day of Exports will be celebrated in the
presence of a large number of efficient producers and exporters, researchers,
economic experts, university students and professors and pundits.
