colleges in carrying out this
program, and questionnaires
for this purpose will soon be
sent to them. Under consideration are the effects which the
proposed student rates will
have on students and local businessmen. Mike feels this project should create renewed interest in the activities of N F
CUS.

Four Honored For Administrative Work
For the first time in history
[the Students' Union has awarded three gold "D's" and one
silver "D" to four graduating
seniors for their valuable con:
tributions in
administrative
work to the students at S.D.U.
during
their
undergraduate
i years.
Based on a points system
graded according to the importance of executive positions, a
gold D is awarded to male students who have accumulated
1,000 points or more, and a
silver D to co-eds having from
600 to 800 points.
Recipients of gold awards are
William A. Dolan, James MacAuley, and Daniel O'Hanley.
while the silver award goes to
Frances MacDougall.

In sports, Mike Hawrylak
leaves his dipsy-doodle style to
the would-be buzzers of the
intramural. Hughes hopes that
McLean might have got a few
tips on how to play defense. To

University. Baccalaureate sermon by Rev. J. V. Cass, S. J.
Tuesday, May 15: Graduates'
Mass at 8:00 a.m. followed by
Communion breakfast in the
University Dining Room (graduates only).
Commencement exercises begin at 3:00 p.m. The Honourable Thane A. Campbell, Chief
Justice of P.E.I. will address
the graduates.
Graduation Prom at 9:00 p.m.
Admission strictly by invitation.

Fifty-six candidates will be
eligible for degrees this year.
If all are successful this will be
the largest Graduation Class
ever at S.D.U. Of this number,
thirty are candidates for the
Bachelor of Arts, ninteen for
the Bachelor of Science, and
seven for Bachelor of Commerce.
Once again the boys will outnumber the girls, this time by
7 to 1 (forty-nine boys to seven
girls).
Thirteen of the candidates
will also be eligible for honors.
Provided they all maintain
their averages in the finals,
this number will also represent
the highest number of "Honours" graduates in one year at
S.D.U.

Baccalaureate Sermon
Father John V. Cass, S. J.
will give the Baccaloureate sermon for the Graduating Class
of '62, on Sunday evening, May
13. Fr. Cass, a former student
of S.D.U. and brother of Rev.
F. Cass of S.D.U., was ordained
a Jesuit in 1934, taught philosophy at the Jesuit seminary
in Toronto for twenty years,
and is presently teaching at
Loyola College in Montreal. He
is well-known as a retreat
master and mission preacher,
and as recently as 1957, he
conducted the men's retreat at
S.D.U.
