Measure the room for your kitchen. Imagine yourself working in it. Try to draw pieces of furniture on the
floor in the actual size. Move between them; this way you will find the best place for carrying out kitchen
activities. Mark all technical connections. Not all of them will match your design; sometimes you have to

Spacious closets
The wall of fronts covers, among others, the fridge and highly assembled oven. A comfortable solution is the application of Tandembox drawers in high internal closets. Covered by
the "regular" fronts, they do not destroy the line of divisions; they are spacious and very

In the countertop of the large island, the sink and hob are

Peninsula has functional features of an island; it allows access from three sides and also constitutes a border line between
the rooms. In this kitchen, on the extended fragment of the cabinetry, hob was installed and two wide Tandembox drawers, which are load durable.

High drawer
Arrangement of fronts creates the impression of a cabinet with only one low drawer. However, the high front consists
of two additional drawers. It is not only a trendy esthetic solution but it also allows for the access to the inside of a deep
piece of furniture. Look at the walls of Boxside lifting up the sides of the drawers, so you can safely store high objects.
Island in contrasts
All arrangement of furniture was vividly divided into three
parts – closets with a fridge, oven and coffee machine,
long worktop and island with a hob. Notice the freedom

Access to the upper cabinets is easier due to lifted fronts. They are not
only comfortable but also follow the fashionable trend to emphasize
horizontal lines in the division of the furniture arrangement.
Up to date exotics
Lacquer with a high polish emphasizes the most
fashionable trend – dark fronts of the definite, striped texture. Arrangement of fronts in combination
with the strips of the handles additionally compliments the grain of the exotic veneer. The furniture

Solid countertop

side of the island. Its edges were protected with
SSV rim, which is damage resistant. The side of the
island almost invisibly connects with the worktop.

Wide fronts are opened towards the top due to Aventos actuators. This method of opening ensures easy access to
the inside of the cabinets and at the same time allows for reaching the handle without the necessity to climb on
the stool.

fronts. Strategio XI is one of a few exceptions. Due to slantwise shaped side
frames, the line of fronts transforms into the side of the arrangement in the

Sideboards not only from the kitchen
The sideboard is a piece of furniture formerly associated mostly with a dining room. Nowadays, it
is back in fashion.
Its traditional functional model has not changed for years. The upper, glass-fronted part holds tableware,
the bottom one closed with small doors or equipped with drawers, holds table linens and cutlery. However, most often the sideboard, with its content, becomes a decorative element similar to the fireplace.
It might be found in the kitchen, dining room and in an elegant living room. It is a part of a larger set of
furniture or maintains its own style; sometimes different from surrounding furniture.
We prepared 6 types of sideboards for selected kitchen from the Royal group; each of them is available in a few versions with
different length or adopted fronts (covered, with grate, glass-fronted). Each of the sideboards is offered for a few kitchens (e.g.
Roma sideboards are available for Insygnata, Artycja and Imperor kitchens). We prepared 102 combinations in total. If you are
not able to find your favorite sideboards among them, you may create your own composing it from the cabinet units available
for a selected kitchen. Ask the vendor for details.

Small kitchen
Even a small kitchen might be fully functional. In order
to make it possible, we have to remember that it has to
have cabinets for products and necessary equipment,
countertops or working surfaces and sufficient space for
free movement.
Designing small kitchen, we usually try to fill the available
space with furniture. Use of high wall cabinets or few rows of
upper cabinets up to the ceiling will ensure maximum use of
the wall surface (in the upper parts we store things that we
rarely use). It is very important to well-plan the countertops.
After assembling the hob and sink in them, we have to leave
some space for work. Designing the arrangement of a small
kitchen, we can face the dilemma whether we want larger
countertop or we resign from the part of it for the purpose of
high cabinetry (e.g. pillar under the oven) or over the countertop cabinet (e.g. with a blind). There is no universal solution for such problems. All the decisions must be made with
consideration of the space and needs of the users. Besides
the furniture, choice of appropriate household appliances is
important. In small kitchens, under-cabinet ventilation hoods
are efficient. We can gain some more space by assembling
smaller fridge, oven or narrower dishwasher.
Open kitchen
This is one of the solutions for the problem related to small
kitchen. The cabinetry extends into the living room with the
work peninsula. The side of the furniture is used for assembling wide drawers. Thus, we gain additional working space
and spacious drawers.

Narrow fronts
Division of fronts of the bottom cabinets allows for their more
comfortable opening. In small kitchens, there is not always a
place for free movement.

While planning the kitchen, please pay attention
that part of the furniture arrangement may be
installed in the next adjusting room by executing
the niche with access from the kitchen. In such a
way, e.g. you can fit the fridge in the hall closet,
shrinking the width of the space for clothes.
Sometimes, the best solution for the small kitchen
may be opening it into the living room. However,
that is a different story, which you may read about
on page 38-41.
In order to ensure free movement and to open bottom cabinets, at least 100 cm
is needed. Knowing that worktop has the width of 60 cm, minimum width of the
room for the kitchen is 160 cm.

Railing systems
Railing is a perfect way to organize the space between the bottom and wall cabinets. In such a way you can
freely arrange the space both visually and functionally.
Variety of the offer of bins and railings allows for location of different items comfortably, from paper towels to cook
books. Railing may have practically any length, and corner fittings allow for matching it with the wall. The biggest
benefit is freedom with which it might be equipped and possibility of free, immediate change of the location of
various accessories, so they are within reach whenever they are needed. Our railings have four types of finish: chrome,
brass, patina brass and satinized nickel. Available choice of colors and handles for the ending of railing in retro and
simple style allow for matching railing with the style of your kitchen.

Lighting
Planning lighting, we cannot forget that the functional kitchen must have a well lit working place,
i.e. countertop. Selection of lighting should make work easier and at the same time emphasize the
style of furniture. Ideal solution is to use multi-level lighting.
General lighting is usually located near the ceiling, so when we work we cover it successfully. Therefore, it
should be matched with additional sources of light at the working countertop. If you have wall cabinets,
we recommend use of undercabinet lighting. It may be presented in many ways: as spot sources of light
located in the corner of the wall and the furniture, as single frames or the sequence of lamp assembled in
the axis of the upper cabinet. Always remember about the heat generated by the incandescent or halogen
lamp mounted near the external edge of the cabinets may become the source of burnt. Fluorescent lamps,
although their light is less pleasant are more comfortable in that sense.
Lighting planning
Often in the kitchens, the only source of light
is the lamp placed in the middle of the ceiling.
This is not a really practical solution because
both people working at the countertop and
sitting at the table cover the light (picture 1).
Better solution is to use extension sets, which
lit the majority of the working countertop
(picture 2). The best lit work space is ensured
by the undercabinet lighting. (picture 3 and 4).

Lighting of the countertop
Frames mounted on the upper cabinets are often used as
lighting. Certainly they are more practical than a lamp on
the ceiling; however they lit only the part of the countertop.
On the other hand, due to unusual frames they add atmosphere to the interior, emphasizing the style of the interior. Due to that reasons, lighting mounted on the cabinets
serves mostly decorative purposes. In the kitchen, try to use
the sources of light closest to the natural. Dishes are also
worth seeing. Planning the undercabinet lighting, always
remember to connect power and the way to control it. If you
are during the construction or renovation of the house or
the apartment, power and control of lighting in the kitchen
may be connected to the domestic electric installation. In
case when the furniture is being replaced, power of lighting should be planned with regards to the existing outlets
and their “load” with other kitchen appliances (fridge, oven,
ventilation hood, kettle, etc.). Connecting the lighting to
230 V outlets, you should check whether they have their
control on the casing or on the cable. If not, control must be

for cutlery were common. Nowadays, in a modern kitchen they constitute majority of bottom cabinets.

AVENTOS – flow of movement
Comfortable and smooth opening of the upper cabinets is possible due to AVENTOS actuators. Due to
them, not only the front is lifted up but you may also keep it in any position. BLUMOTION system integrated
with the actuator smoothly hinders the closed front. Elegant design and durability are different benefits
of AVENTOS. Cabinets with the AVENTOS actuators are available in different heights: 36 cm (with slightly
opened front), 57 cm (with tilt and forthcoming front) and 72 cm (with double tilt and folding front).
BLUMOTION – quiet
BLUMOTION closing means perfect movement associated with closing of the furniture, delicate and quiet,
which does not require effort. AVENTOS actuators, INTIVO and TANDEMBOX drawers are equipped with
BLUMOTION system. Moreover, regular cabinets may be also equipped with BLUMOTION absorbers.
It does not matter any more how much energy is put into closing the fronts; thanks to BLUMOTION they
always close delicately and almost silently.
The more sudden movement, the stronger is BLUMOTION..
TIP-ON – instead of handles
Handless cabinets in the kitchen are in fashion and they are becoming more and more popular. They
are comfortable and look elegant at the same time. Opening the doors without handles is supported by
TIP-ON system for vertical fronts (left and right). In cabinets with TIP-ON, it is enough to touch it lightly.

store any content. Due to ORGA-LINE elements, you will use usable space to the maximum and you will adapt it to store different
items; you may arrange the drawer for cutlery, small items, stock,
pots, containers, trash organizers and many others.

devices. Keeping all those products in order is possible due to
organizers. Their containers and divisions may be arranged and
moved freely, which allows to organize drawers according to your
needs. The drawer for cutlery may be additionally equipped with

ORGA-LINE

They are very practically to store stock, pots, plates or containers. Usable space in such drawer might be functionally organized with the regulated cross
and longitudinal divisions. Due to divisions, during drawer opening nothing
is going to move or fall down. Design matches functionality; colors and patterns of divisions match drawers.
A comfortable solution is a drawer for plates. You may store up to 12 plates
in a special handles of the regulated width. Now place setting takes no time
at all.

sink. With the boxide partitions, we divide a place for cleaning agents
in it. Application of a tub and divisions additionally protects the inside

Cabinet arrangement
Access to the deep cabinets, in particular bottom ones, placed in the corner is always difficult. The solution
may be modern systems of Magic Corner bins and revolving shelves adjusted to the corner arrangement of the
furniture, available in our offer.
Revolving shelves are available in 3 versions; each for a different type of the bottom inner corner. Magic Corner is specially designed bins for DNW-105 cabinets – the deepest, the inside of which is most difficult to access. In the cabinets
of the width of 15 or 30 cm, behind the seemingly “regular” front, there might be cargo bins – open-work shelve assembled to the front and extended during cabinet opening. With one smooth movement, we can take out all content of the
cabinet, we see everything and everything is within reach.
In the corner cabinets
Magic Corner bins allow for access to the
corner of furniture arrangement. They are
assembled at the bottom of the carcase.
Other method for managing the corner is
to install the revolving shelf ½ circle.

Trashcans constitute supplement to the offer. The
simplest ones are assembled at the front and their
lid opens automatically when the cabinet is being
opened. The alternative might be single or double
extended bins assembled at the bottom of the
cabinet. The solution for the most demanding is
Ekko-System module bins; containers are available
in three sizes (from 6 to 21 l), therefore their number and size might be adjusted to the size of the
cabinets and needs of the user. Ekko-System bins

Ventilation hood for every kitchen
The ventilation hood is a necessary element for each kitchen. Without it the space absorbs
unpleasant smells; the air is humid and the hob carries particles of grease and dirt.
From our offer of ventilation hoods, you may choose models matching both modern and classic kitchens. Elements of some ventilation hoods are made from similar materials and color variety of fronts
in our offer, therefore the ventilation hood becomes an integral part of the complete set of furniture.
The selection of the ventilation hood depends on the size of the kitchen and possibility to connect
ventilation channel. If there is no such possibility, while choosing the ventilation hood check whether it
has a recirculation function, after filtration the air returns to the room. If we are using recirculation function, we have to remember about the regular exchange of the coal filters absorbing the kitchen smells.

Classic ventilation hood
In case of the ventilating fan connected to the
ventilation, smells are discharged outside, there
is no need to use coal filters, thus it is more
efficient. The selection of the ventilation hood
mostly depends on the size of the room. In
the smaller kitchens, where every fragment of
the wall has to be used, undercabinet ventilation hoods are mostly efficient; flat, allowing
for assembly of the additional cabinet, useful
despite smaller space due to inner installation.
In the larger kitchens, the ventilation hood
becomes a decorative element; it occupies the
exposed fragment of the wall or is even suspended independently above the kitchen island.
Besides style and size of the kitchen, the next
criterion is the power of the ventilation hood.
When it is appropriately selected, it should
change the air in the room at least six times
an hour. When we have the desired ventilation
hood, it has to be suspended at the appropriate
height. It should be a compromise between the
recommendations of the manufacturer of the
panel (usually gas cookers require higher assembly of the ventilation hood) and a comfort of use;
if it is suspended too low, it makes looking into
pots difficult and we may touch it with our head.

Handles are one of the most important elements of the kitchen. On one hand,
they constitute its decoration, in some cases, they are referred to as the furniture jewelry. Because kitchen furniture is possibly the most intensely used,
we have to take care of the fact that the handles are practical. In wide, heavy

Practical countertops
We offer laminated countertops of the thickness of 38 mm for our kitchens. Most often, we make countertops
of the standard width of 60 cm. Because all our countertops are made upon the request of the Clients and
adjusted to their needs and the size of the furniture arrangements, we do not limit ourselves to the standards.
Maximum width of the countertop is 120 cm and their length, depending on the decor, from 270 to 410 cm.
In case of kitchen countertops, their resistance to humidity is important; therefore we pay great attention to
finishing of the edges. The most effective is standard fillet (“rolled" laminate at the front edge), however only
one side of the countertop is finished in such way. For the finishing of the others, we propose melaminated
edges, PVC or SSV. The last one is more expensive and it constitutes a more efficient protection than PVC or a
“regular” Melamine. The completion of the offer are accessories, e.g. countertop stripes, aluminum or in color
of the countertops or the stripe thickening the countertop.

Countertops
Rules of countertop use
Avoid permanent contact with heat. Do not put hot dishes next to laminated surfaces of
the working countertops, because it may become the reason for occurrence of all stains.
Use mats.
Use cutting boards. The surface of the countertop is not resistant to scratches. Kitchen
operations carried out with the use of sharp tools might be the reason for surface damage.
Avoid large quantities of water in places where countertops connect or on the edges of
the sink. Excessive volume of water left for longer time may cause swelling of the countertop. Wipe the countertop with a dry cloth.
Do not use abrasive materials and cleaning powders to clean the countertop. Clean using
water and mild detergents. Stains from grease and ink should be removed with a clean
cloth using appropriate solvents (e.g. alcohol, acetone).
Be ware about high temperatures when opening devices such as dishwasher, oven; there
is a possibility of burning the edges. Wait until the temperature inside drops. Use protective foils under the countertop, usually delivered with the household appliances for
building in.

In your kitchen
When preparing a meal, we often spend a lot of time in the
kitchen. Therefore it is important that the arrangement of the
furniture was designed following the principles of ergonomics,
so the work in the kitchen is comfortable.
Basic rule for furnishing a kitchen is the principle of working triangle. Most of works we execute between three devices: fridge, sink
and the hob. Certainly, today the number of appliances grows, however new functions mostly are connected to the automatic equipment, which do not require long service. They are usually loaded
and emptied, e.g. microwave or separate oven. Three most important appliances serve basic functions – storage of ingredients, initial
processing or cooking. Each of those activities is related to work on
the countertop, thus taking out and segregation of products, cutting and mixing, seasoning and putting aside hot dishes. For that
reason, free parts of the countertop are important accompanying
every appliance. Sometimes, certain compromises are required. In
a small kitchen, the number of countertops used for putting things
aside shall be minimized for the purpose of creating one long
working sequence. One long countertop is more useful than a few
shorter ones.
Ergonomics in the kitchen
Working triangle shows optimum distances between the most
important appliances in the kitchen and a basic schema of kitchen
works. Working sequence should start from the fridge (we get the
products out). The next stage is cleaning and processing (we need a
sink and working countertop). Preparation of the meal is finished by
cooking or baking, so the last appliance shall be the cooker.

aside countertop, similar is placed behind the cooker.

Plan your kitchen
Measure your space for the kitchen, mark windows and exits of all installations and media. Draw
the shape of the kitchen using measuring projection presented aside. First, use bottom cabinets
(you can use the patterns below). Match the best arrangement from them, remembering about
your needs and spatial capacities. Remember not to leave the windows (they must open). If you
decide to move the heater, think how the kitchen is going to be heated (the solution might be the
installation of the floor heating). The next step will be the selection of the upper cabinets. Think
what will be stored in them. Based on that, you should plan their number and location. Share your
ideas with the closest kitchen studio of Black Red White, where together with the designer you
will refine your design and select appropriate equipment and accessories.
