Although the Carmichael Recreation and Park District Benefit
Assessment has been passed by the majority of property owners
and fees are being collected, no funds will be spent or authorized
on any improvements at this time until litigation is resolved. For

CREEK CLEAN-UP AND CELEBRATION
Saturday, April 18 • 9am-2pm
Gather a team and join the county-wide creek clean-up effort.
Volunteers will be honored at Carmichael Park (band shell)
afterwards from 12:00-2:00pm. Activities include a FREE
barbecue, educational and activity booths, Radio Disney and
more. If you would like to join a clean-up site please call Elizabeth
at (916) 483-7826 x25.
*This is a great opportunity for students to earn community
service credit!
CLOTHING RECYCLING DRIVE
Accepting Items until April 18
Drop off your used clothing, linens and towels and we’ll recycle
them for you! Drop off location is 5750 Grant Avenue in Carmichael,
Monday – Friday, 8:30-5:00pm. Saturday, April 18 clothes may
be dropped off at the Band Shell from 9:00am-2:00pm. Clothes
must be in plastic bags.

Grand Stand is located across the street from Carmichael

CARMICHAEL COMMUNITY GARDEN
Located at Sutter Park off of Sutter Drive, the garden exists
to promote a positive environment for community members
with a passion for working outdoors, to share information,
gardening techniques and build camaraderie. The plots are
renewed annually for $55 and on an application basis are
available to families, individuals or community organizations.

Farmers Market operated by Be Money Smart USA, a local nonprofit training organization specializing in financial and business
education for youth in our community. This market features
certified farmers locally grown seasonal fruits and vegetables,
specialty gourmet foods, spices, and sauces, nuts dried fruits
and honey. Local entertainment is provided for your enjoyment!

both a unique and tactile educational opportunity and we

AGILITY - BEGINNERS
Fee: $85(R), $95(NR)
This class will teach your dog the basics of agility as well as
strengthen obedience commands. Participants will learn all
equipment: Tunnels, Jumps, Tire, A-Frame, Dog Walk and Table.
The goal is to master 5 obstacles in a sequence. Obedience
skills such as focus and directional control, solid side recall
and start line stays will be practiced each week. Students will
advance to the next level based on ability.
AGILITY DROP-IN

This is a self-paced play time and drop-in students must share
the course with others.
BASIC/PUPPY MANNERS & OBEDIENCE

The first level exposes new and experienced dog owners to
a different approach at teaching the good manners that
dogs should have at home and in public. In a group setting
owners and dogs will learn to adapt to other humans, dogs
and distractions. Students who have completed the first class
will move on to advanced levels that include the “3 D’s of
Dog Training” and “The Real World” (more interactions with
dog-friendly businesses and social environments to help
strengthen skills).

Learn the ancient art of making Ukrainian Easter Eggs,
called “Pysanky” in the Ukraine. Show off your one-of-a-kind

This 8-hour class is a basic training course in emergency care for infants
and children. There are also adult essential skills included which differ
from the skills for infant and child care. Emphasis is on the development
of Primary and Secondary Essential Skills. Class includes AED training
and meets the Pediatric CPR and First Aid and Child Care Provider
requirements. Certifications are good for 2 years.

The class includes Chi Gong stretching, limbering and breathing
exercises drawn heavily from “Sin Tien Wu Chi Qui Gong”, as
well as a Tai Chi form based on “Yang” Tai Chi movements. The
class may help reduce risks of falling, improve balance and daily
physical functioning and enhance physical health and mental
well-being. Wear comfortable, loose clothing and bring water.

Based on the Hatha style, this workout blends balance, strength, flexibility

day camps are what you need. All boys and girls ages
5-12 will have the opportunity to play various activities
including sports, games, art, dance, and music. Most
importantly, our campers get to go swimming once
a week and venture out on a thrilling fieldtrips once
a week (swimming and fieldtrip costs are included).
These fieldtrips include Incredible Johns, Sky High,

If your child loves basketball, or maybe you’re looking for an active sport
that gets your young one moving around, this camp is for you. Our
experienced basketball coaches emphasize fundamentals by providing
detailed instruction on shooting, dribbling, passing and defense. Most of
all, our coaches makes the sport fun for everyone! Players will do drills,
play fun games and scrimmage throughout the course of the camp. Our
Junior Stars participants will also have the opportunity to practice and

SYNCHRONIZED SWIMMING PROGRAM
Location: Cottage Pool
Synchronized swimming is a water sport that combines swimming skills
with the artistry of gymnastics and ballet. “Synchro” emphasizes precise
teamwork and individual skill and strength in an atmosphere of fun and
friendship, all put to music. Swimmers of all abilities from 5-8 years old
can participate. Each swimmer will learn basic figures and swimmers will
try out to be in routines which compete at championships. Practices and

The Carmichael Recreation and Park District offers a
variety of rental facilities to suit your event needs.
Carmichael Park Facilities

Facilities are available from 7:00am 12:00am. All rentals must be cleaned up
and walking out the door by 1:00am.
SECURITY DEPOSITS
capacity of 70. It includes a kitchen with serving counter, residential stove and refrigerator.
There are 10 - 10ft. tables and 70 chairs. The North Room is located off the main hall and
is perfect for small meetings up to 10 people.
A security deposit is required for all events.
The deposit is refundable if the facility is
returned to its original condition. Renters
are responsible for set-up and clean up.
Fees must be received at least two weeks
prior to the event. Reservations will be
considered final on the 21st day prior to the
scheduled use date. No security deposit
will be refunded after that date.
RAYMOND AND HAZEL NAY MEMORIAL PICNIC AREA is located in the
back of the park. It features a covered picnic area with a food preparation area and a large
barbecue grill. This shelter can accommodate up to 250 people.
Set-up is charged at a per hour rate for
most facilities and clean-up is billed at the
regular hourly rental rate.
DANIEL BISHOP MEMORIAL PAVILION for the Performing Arts (Band Shell)
is located in the back of the park. The facility features a covered concrete stage and dance
floor surrounded by shade trees. This is a great place for dance recitals, award ceremonies,
and memorial services. No live bands allowed unless sponsored by the District. You must
provide your own tables and chairs.
LIABILITY INSURANCE IS
REQUIRED
CARMICHAEL PARK CLUBHOUSE consists of two adjoining rooms and
kitchen with two residential refrigerators and stove. There are 20 - 12ft. tables and
150 chairs. Dining capacity is 150.
VETERAN’S MEMORIAL HALL AND NORTH ROOM facility has a dining

JOHN D. SMITH HALL is a large facility that has a dining capacity of 385 people.
The size of the facility is 6435 sq. ft. with a commercial kitchen; two industrial stoves,
two commercial refrigerators, one freezer, and an ice machine. 30 - 12ft. tables and
42 - 60” rounds with chairs are provided. There is a stage and access to a PA system for
an additional fee.
CYPRESS ROOM has a dining capacity of
115 people and includes a commercial kitchen.
The size of the facility is 50’x36’ or 1,814 sq. ft.
and has a low stage. Ideal for small gatherings
and easy access from parking lot.

Room 800 has a capacity of 50 people and is
perfect for meetings. The room size is 31’x31’
or 961 sq. ft.
CRPD reserves the right to set special
requirements of individuals and/or groups
using district facilities to protect these
facilities and the general public. Insurance
can be purchased through the District.
CRPD does not allow “pay at the door” or
any monetary exchange activities at events
unless the user group qualifies as a Group II
non-profit and is approved by CRPD.
