Oak Brook - Greater Oak Brook Partnership
Welcome to Oak Brook We understand your company is interested in a possible relocation to Oak Brook. Congratulations on a wonderful business strategy! Oak Brook provides the best setting anywhere to work, live and play What’s more, Oak Brook offers a number of relocation and expansion initiatives, helping make such a relocation an even wiser decision. We look forward to meeting you as soon as possible to discuss these initiatives, and learn more about your company’s relocation interests and requirements. As you may know already, Oak Brook is the region’s leading corporate hub — and most business friendly. Oak Brook maintains one of the Chicago area’s lowest overall tax rates, and is centrally located to help you leverage every geographic advantage. Oak Brook’s proximity to major expressways and airports facilitates employee recruitment from multiple suburban markets. All these factors make Oak Brook the logical headquarters choice for McDonald’s Corporation, Ace Hardware, Federal Signal and Blistex, to name just a few of the worldrenowned corporations headquartered here. Additional reasons to relocate to and expand in Oak Brook are almost too numerous to list. They start with one of the region’s best sign ordinances, which allows companies located here to gain from extraordinary visibility. Moreover, our village understands that relocating and expanding companies face challenges, so we offer a range of potential financial incentives to help them reduce their operational costs over the term of their new leases. Please also keep in mind that our community works diligently with relocating companies to ensure that permit requests and other necessary applications are completed in as timely, responsive and efficient a fashion as possible. The quality of life in Oak Brook is unsurpassed by any community in the area. Oak Brook employees and visitors have access to the best shopping in the Chicago area, including the world-renowned Oakbrook Center. The schools in Oak Brook consistently are ranked some of the highest in the state. Employees and residents also have ample opportunities for sports and recreation, including one public and two private golf courses, miles of multi-purpose paths, and top-notch village and park district recreation facilities. We believe that Oak Brook offers the best corporate address in the western suburbs, along with low taxes, excellent access, superior amenities, and incentives that make Oak Brook the place to be. Dr. Gopal Lalmalani President, Village of Oak Brook Public Private Partnership The Greater Oak Brook Economic Development Partnership recognizes that businesses and government must work together to sustain and grow a robust local economy. As such, the Village of Oak Brook and the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce each play important roles in strengthening commerce in Oak Brook. The Village of Oak Brook has created a positive, business-friendly environment in which companies can thrive. This work has included establishing planning and zoning ordinances that help businesses as they develop properties or move into office or retail locations. The Village also is moving forward with a plan to modernize its infrastructure and beautify its commercial district. The Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce has helped build a synergy between businesses in Oak Brook that allows them to work together toward common economic goals. Oak Brook’s major corporations work side by side to provide the resources, expertise and other support needed to attract businesses to Oak Brook — and make this a place companies want to stay. How the Partnership Works Every company with whom we work is distinctive. No matter their services or products, core values or size, no two businesses are exactly alike. All companies require solutions that fit their specific relocation or expansion needs, as they consider critical growth decisions. Partnership staff work with site selectors and their clients to inform them about the community’s business advantages, services, incentives and amenities — and to introduce them and their clients to key municipal and business leaders. Based on the corporate client’s interests and needs, Partnership staff may also arrange for the client to meet with Village of Oak Brook staff to discuss planning or zoning requirements. In addition, Partnership staff may arrange for site selectors and clients to meet with Oak Brook’s Rapid Response Team, which is comprised of the Village President, trustees and staff, fire chief, police chief, Oak Brook Park District staff, PACE Suburban Bus representatives, the head of the Oak Brook hotel committee, the heads of the Oak Brook hospitality and retail council, and Oak Brook’s corporate leaders. During these meetings, Rapid Response Team members offer testimonials about Oak Brook’s many business benefits. The team also learns about and works to address and support the company’s critical needs and issues for relocation or expansion. Partnership staff also work closely with Oak Brook’s landlords and brokers to provide ongoing support and assistance to current tenants. For example, staff may work with landlords, tenants and local government officials to meet a unique zoning request. Or staff may work on behalf of a tenant for a needed road or sign improvement.
