EI 30 FIRE PROTECTION DOOR
Fire protection doors with or without sidelights and toplights are designed for use as
interior entrance doors in residential buildings, collective dwellings, public utility and
industrial buildings. They are used to close openings in internal walls, between staircases
or corridors and rooms.
n DOOR INSTALLATION EI 30
The door subject to the Approval should be installed in accordance with the technical design made
for the specific building and with:
∙∙Mandatory standards and regulations, in particular the regulation of the Minister of
Infrastructure of April 12, 2002 on the technical conditions which must be met by buildings and
their locations (Journal of Laws, 2002, no 75, item 690 with further amendments),
∙∙Provisions of the Technical Approval,
∙∙Door installation manual issued by the door manufacturer and delivered to customers with each
product lot,
The POL-SKONE system FR EI 30 fire protection door can be fitted to:
∙∙Brick walls (made of ceramic or silicate bricks) with a minimum thickness of 120 mm,
∙∙Concrete or reinforced concrete walls with a minimum thickness of 100 mm,
∙∙Walls built of blocks or hollow bricks made of cellular concrete with a minimum thickness of
115 mm,
∙∙Stud walls made of GKF boards with a minimum fire protection class of EI 30 and a minimum
thickness of 100 mm.
In case of walls made of gypsum boards, the wooden door frame of a door set should be fitted
to sections UA 75 or UA 100 by means of wood screws made of steel and anchor plates through
strips of 12.5 mm thick GKF type gypsum boards.
In case of brick, concrete or reinforced concrete walls, the wooden door frame of a door set
should be fitted by means of ø 10 mm steel plug walls with a maximum spacing of 565 mm. The
free space between the door frame and the wall is tightly filled with mineral rock wool or fireproof
fitting foam, protected from the outside with mortar.

The EI30 PLUS fireproof door can be used for the following types of walls:

∙∙Concrete or reinforced concrete walls with a minimum thickness of 100 mm,
∙∙Cellular concrete walls with a minimum thickness of 150 mm,
∙∙Walls built of GKF gypsum-cardboard panels with a minimum thickness of 100 mm and
fireproofing class of min. EI30
Installation of door with wooden frame
In case of walls built of GKF gypsum-cardboard panels, the door set wooden frame should be
fixed to the UA 75 or UA 100 sections by means of steel screws for fastening wood through 12.5
mm thick gypsum-cardboard panel strips.
In case of masonry walls, concrete walls or reinforced concrete walls, a wooden frame of a door
set should be mounted by means of bolts with expansion sleeves with a diameter of 10x152 mm
and the maximum spacing of 565 mm. The free space between the door frame and the wall is
to be tightly filled with mineral wool with a density of at least 80 kg/m3 or fireproof fitting foam
(Illbruck 1 K-P) and additionally protected with mortar.
Installation of door with fixed metal frame
A fixed metal frame can be installed within the existing walls (item 2) or install it parallel to the
construction of a new wall (item 1).
1. T he brickwork envelope of the door frame is built parallel to the construction of the masonry
walls. In such case, approximately 15 mm clearance should be left between the external plane
of the wall being erected and the internal edge of the profile. The door frame should be mounted
by means of installation anchors fixed to the wall with bolts and expansion sleeves of a size of
ø10x112 mm. The installation anchors should be poured over with mortar (the mortar may not
contain any aggressive compounds). While building the brickwork envelope, it is recommended
to check the position of the door frame, i.e. whether it is out of plumb, in order to correct its
position, and to remove all leakages of unset mortar.
2. In case of masonry walls, concrete walls or reinforced concrete walls, a fixed metal frame of a
door set should be mounted by means of installation anchors fixed to the wall with bolts and
expansion sleeves with a diameter of ø10x112 mm. The free space between the door frame and
the wall is to be tightly filled with mortar or fireproof fitting foam (Illbruck 1 K-P). The mortar
may not contain any aggressive compounds.
Installation of door with folded (adjustable) metal frame
In case of walls made of gypsum-cardboard panels, the load-bearing part of the door set metal
frame should be fixed to the UA 75 or UA 100 profile bars by means of steel self-drilling screws
through 12.5 mm thick gypsum-cardboard panel strips. The free space between the door frame
and the wall is to be tightly filled with mineral wool with a density of at least 80 kg/m3. Then, in the
load-bearing part of the door frame, a closing cover panel should be installed which can be filled
with fireproof fitting foam in selected spots.

door set metal frame should be fixed by means of bolts and expansion sleeves with a diameter
