GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS by Guillermo Marqueño
According to many scientists and Transnational Corporations, foodstuffs made from
genetically modified organisms (GMO’s from now on ) could alleviate famine in
undeveloped countries because of its efficient production.
However, they are obviously hiding the negative effects of
transgenic food and just caring about themselves.
Despite being created in order to produce new proteins
and to obtain health benefits some years ago, nowadays GMO’s
have become just a profit for many Corporations (such as
Nestle, Burger King and Knorr ) and they are quite unsafe.
As Jorge Riechmann says in his book Cultivos y alimentos
transgénicos, “Biotechnology isn´t a problem itself, but Transnational’s Biotechnology is”.
GMO’s can cause allergies in consumers, and serious alterations in vegetables’ nutricional
values. What is more, althought a tomato is rotten, it’ll look fresh and appetizing. Therefore,
you don’t know what you are eating. Anyway, the main effect GMO’s entail is the fact that
they seriously harm the ecosystem in which there are involved.

Park is in the Aragon’s Pyrenees at
the foot of Monte Perdido, which
rises up 11,007 feet.
Ordesa and the
neighbouring French
Western Pyrenees
National Park have been
recognized as a United
Nations Educational,
Scientific and Cultural
Organization World Heritage Site.
The Arazas River with its beautiful
waterfalls weaves over the park. The
landscape varies from lush valley forests
and meadows, to steep limestone slopes
and delicate alpine reaches.
The valley forests are incredibly rich, with
Scots and Corsican pine, fir, beech, juniper,
yew, poplar, oak, hazel, lime, and ash.

The animal life
is just as varied,
with the Pyrenees’s
only herd of wild
goat, chamois,
boar, golden eagle,
griffon vulture,
falcon, ermine, weasel, otter, fox and so
on… all residing in the park.
A number of huts are maintained in the
area for hikers. There are trails for a variety
of experience levels, and the long distance
Pyrenean Path runs through Ordesa.
Several shorter walks are possible from the
surrounding towns. Skiing is possible in the
winter.
The towns of Torla and Ainsa are the
gateways to the park. Torla has an access
road for the Ordesa Valley, and Ainsa leads
to the Añinclo, Escuaín and Pineta valleys.
The visitors centre is located in the Ordesa
Valley.

offers one of the most
spectacular samples of the volcanism
worldwide. The impressive volcano of the
Beak of the Teide, which with his 3.718
meters is the major height of Spain, is
seated on a former and gigantic depression
formed by two semiboilers separated by
Roques de García. Actually, the Teide and
Old Beak are formed by the accumulation
of volcanic materials proceeding from
successive eruptions. Chahorra or Old
Beak possesses crater of 800 meters of
diameter and 3.100 meters of altitude, and
the crater of the Teide is formed in turn by 2
craters, that of The Rambleta, of 850
meters of diameter and 3.565 meters of
height and, emerging in his interior, the
Basin of Sugar, culminating point with 80 m
of diameter and 3.718 meters of altitude.
The latter, still presents residual activity in
the shape of fumaroles to 86 ºC. Together
with these, numerous volcanoes form the
current landscape of the protected area,
being volcanoes of rounded form and
yellowish tonality for the accumulation of
pumice, cones of ashes and so on.
The flora of the Teide is rich and singular, being
the present species completely adapted to the
extreme conditions of the way, that is to say, to
the altitude, strong sunstroke, thermal extent
and shortage of dampness. This way, only two
species of trees are capable of resisting in these
conditions, the cedar (of that some stay few
specimens isolated in the cliffs of Destroyed of
the Cedar and The Fortaleza) and the Canary
pine. There abound especially the bushes of
high mountain; only the summits and the most
recent fields of lava, where they could not have
formed organic soil and that still have not been
degraded, are colonized only for lichens, that
develop a fundamental role in the initial phases
of settling of the soil.

When he was eighteen years old he

Alex’s father had a friend who heard the

They are the components of the popstars group. They have got it thanks to their effort, character, talent and
our votes. Now, they begin their career as a group, a pop group which will be very famous.
Everyone of them, with their own style, their virtues and their few defects, must continue trying to achieve a
hole in the music world. They have enough qualities, they have demostrate it in this months of hard training,
but the real challenge begins now.
The group presentation, the album recording, the shows…a lot of things to do, but nobody said that being a
popstars was easy. They know it, and they want to continue working to get their dream.
Carmen Miriam, the most popular; the smaller Elisabeth; Norma, the girl from Valencia; Marta, all art and the
voice of Davinia. The weapons of this group wich have nothing to envy anybody, but must continue working
to get a place in the music world. They are BELLEPOP. Don’t forget it.

novel which was written by Robert Ludlum and it´s
directed by Doug Liman. It is starred by the wellknown actor, Matt Damon, who won an Oscar for the
script of “Good Will Hunting”, who plays the part of

THE GHOST OF THE CAR
This picture was taken in the 60’s in
San Francisco (E.E.U.U.), the
driver, Lee Dickens was a teacher of
the University of San Francisco. He
was an orphan, his father left his
mom when she was pregnant and
he never met his mother because
she died when he was born, so he
had a very difficult childhood, in a
orphanage. When he left the
orphanage he got a university
degree and he met his wife and got
married. He had bought his car that
day, and his wife took him a
photograph to have a memory of his
first day with car. When they
developed the photo they could see
the image of Lee’s mother into the
car. A lot of experts studied the case
and they thought that the mother
had a pending matter: TO
PROTECT HER SON.
The film “Three men and a feeding
bottle” played by Roland Giraud,
Michel Boujenah and Andre Dussollier
is very famous, it was make in 1985.
This film is famous because there was
a very interesting x-file in it. In a
scene, we can see a child, but he
wasn’t an actor, he shouldn’t have
been there. When the film was
presentedfor the first time, there was a
controversy, because a woman said
that the child was her dead son.
In other scenes of the film it appeared
a shotgun that nobody had put there. It
was the shotgun the child was playing
with when accidentaly he died. He was
there because it was his home.

Barrax is a town situated in
Albacete. In a house of this
town very strange things have
happened. Here lives a girl of
this High School. She made
done some exclusive
confessions. For example, lots
of objects change their place
without reasons, especially the
keys when she wants go out.
Sometimes the family heard
voices. There are a lot of big
mirrors, where she has seen
some figures and shades.
Before her family left the
house, they took a photo of her
little sister, and in the photo an
image appear behind her.
They were very frightened, and
asked the opinion of experts.
They made some nvestigations
and discovered some bones of
an old cemetery situated under
the house.

The goals was scored by Baraja (1-0), Guti (2-0)
and Baraja again (3-0).

At last! Ronaldo arrived to Madrid, the last month
of August, and on several weeks he broke all the
