Dear Collector After spending months sourcing rare and quality
Dear Collector After spending months sourcing rare and quality items for this catalogue we then dictate, type, photograph, arrange, edit and send to the printers. Then we print in full colour and post it out. At this stage the costs are huge and the risk considerable. Our success or failure is in the lap of the Gods, generally we get it right but just occasionally events conspire against us. On a previous occasion our new set of telephones ceased functioning for the crucial days after posting resulting in a ruinous disaster. After the Autumn catalogue was posted we were called away unexpectedly for those crucial days and has to rely on the answer machines, which unbeknown to us had been disconnected by a playful cat! Further financial problems! A phenomenon present in most of you is that most never follow up, and the moment, and our important order is lost. Over the years we have found that a great many of you don’t pick up the telephone to make an order as you believe the item will have gone, this is rarely the case, I wish it was! I often speak to a customer days after distribution and enquire if there was anything in the catalogue they wanted, only to be told that yes there was but they thought that it must have gone, little wonder I am going bald, I am pulling my own hair out! So please ring, email, or communicate by any means over a longer period than day one, you will almost certainly get the pieces you want and our efforts will be rewarded. Talking about timing being important, we toddled off down to the recreation ground to enjoy the bonfire and fireworks on the 5th November only to find the event had taken place on the 2nd. . Why? The 5th is the commemorative night. Are we soon to see Christmas moved, for convenience, to the nearest Saturday, or New Year moved to the 2nd ?. I have this rant because a few years ago we went to York on the 5th for the big firework show at the castle only to find we had missed it then too. While on a subject I consider barmy consider this. With further Kidney complications I was recently admitted to Scarborough Hospital through the Accident and Emergency Department where I was asked to participate in a customer satisfaction survey. How likely are you to recommend this department to others? Definitely/Very likely/Likely/ Not very likely/Unlikely. A&E? One can imagine an ambulance crew arriving to pick up an accident victim lying in the road in Scarborough being told by the said casualty that he would rather go to Hull, York or Middlesbrough as his friend had not endorsed the A & E at Scarborough. Is it me or is the world going mad? Happy Christmas! DT ……………………………………………………………………………………………..
