RAINING GOLD
The Asian leg of the World cup
series concluded last Sunday
in Tokyo, with Sydney Water
graduates Robert Hurley,
David McKeon and Emma
McKeon (Pictured) collecting
six gold and two bronze medals between them.
Following her success in Singapore, Emma won
the sprint double (50m & 100m) at the China
meet, before heading home.
Hurley, missed the opening leg in Singapore
but made up for it by winning the 400m freestyle in China and Japan. He also finished sixth
in the 1500m in Tokyo, where all the first six
swimmers broke the 15 minute barrier.
NEW PERSONAL BEST
A number of distance runners from the BlueScope
Steel squad ran personal
best times last Saturday
night at Homebush, as the
state 3000m championship
was run.
Olivia Lavalle and Brooke
Cassar (Pictured) finished eight and ninth respectively in the open women’s B race, running
national qualifying times in the process.
Lavalle’s 10.40.12 was a 2 second personal
best (PB), whilst Cassar had a 24 second improvement to run 10.40.80.
Liam Henderson also ran a PB time of 9.45,
whilst Jules Cleary finished midfield in his race.

NSW INDOOR U15
The NSW under 15 indoor
teams were announced last
week, with four current
scholarship holders on the
list.
Riley Wishart (Pictured),
Riley Smith and Grace Stewart are in the girl’s team,
whilst Joshua Mayo is in the boys.
These players will now contest the national
championships in Perth in January next year.
The NSW madison and the
individual pursuit (IP) championships were held in Sydney last weekend.
In the under 17 madison,
Brad Heffernan finished second, Matt Pignatelli fourth
and Jaiden Fullerton-Harvey
sixth. Graduates, Caleb Ewan and Tirian
McManus finished 1-2 in the under 19 category.
In the IP, Holly Heffernan (Pictured) gained a
bronze medal in the under 17, whilst Caleb and
Tirian, once again finished 1-2 in the under 19
category.
NOVEMBER
U19 SELECTIONS
The combined Illawarra/
Southern under 19 team was
selected last week, with
seven IAS graduates in the
team.
Kieran Gray, Jackson Stewart,
Ryan
McGuire
(Pictured) , Nathan McAndrew, Duncan Maddinson, Jordan Matthews and
Callum De Bruyen will this week play at Campbelltown in the under 19 state challenge.

GOLF DAY
The annual golf day is on at the Wollongong
golf course on Friday 25 November. Entry fee
includes breakfast, lunch and 18 holes of golf,
with individual entry at $95 or teams of 4 at
$350.
