Brazed-plate heat exchangers
EXEL Brazed-plate heat exchangers all the expertise of a manufacturer For sustainable exchanges ... EXCELLENCE IN DETAIL EXEL : innovative heat exchanger echnology An EXEL heat exchanger is made up of copper sheets stacked with stamped stainless steel plates. Once fitted with its connections, it is placed in a high-temperature brazing furnace, where the copper melts, ensuring a tight seal and mechanical strength. The end result is a completely functional packaged unit. The slim design means that less refrigerant fluid is needed. The counterflow of fluids makes it possible to reach temperature differences to the degree. Efficiency The distinctive pattern was created using Thermofin's experience in thermal engineering and the testing facilities at its Research and Innovation Centre (R&I). The optimised geometry provides the best trade-off between thermal yield (derived from the transfer coefficient) and energy efficiency (related to pressure drops). Distribution In refrigeration equipment, refrigerant circulates as a liquid and a gas at the same time. However, at the evaporator inlet the two must be evenly distibuted throughout every channel of the heat exchanger in order to ensure proper performance. The EXEL heat exchangers incorporate many patents for distribution systems allowing for efficient flow of diphasic fluid within the unit. Every unit is sized for optimum performance. xel MULTIPLE USES EXEL heat exchangers can be used for any function in the refrigeration cycle and for many applications, from heating to industrial processes. Refrigeration Evaporator Condenser Desuperheater Economiser Oil cooler Heating Swimming pools Geothermal energy Domestic hot water Air heater Heat pumps Solar Industrial processes Cooling of compressed air Cooling/heating of oil (temperature control) Hydraulic power packs Cooling of cutting oil AN EXTENSIVE RANGE ange The EXEL range of brazed-plate heat exchangers is available in 6 sizes and has been developed to meet your needs as exactly as possible. > SAVINGS Thermofin uses its expertise in thermal engineering to size units as closely to requirements as possible. > SLIM DESIGN > RELIABILITY Because heat exchange efficiency depends on the size of an exchanger, EXEL exchangers are ultraslim. The care taken in the design and manufacturing of each unit and the testing programmes used guarantee reliable equipment. Your adviser will guide you through all the possibile connections to find the right one for your unit. And if the one you need does not already exist, we'll make it! Threaded NPT couplings with seal in thread Rotating flanges Braze-welding couplings for refrigerant pipes Threaded gas couplings with O-ring Hex tapped couplings for flexible connections Victaulic couplings Cold insulation Feet and tie bar brackets Flexibility Hot insulation Controlled manufacturing uality Our two manufacturing lines are certified by quality and cleanliness standards that are in line with our aim for flexibility and flawless reliability. Heat exchangers are highly technical components. The core of our machines, they are where fluids and gases meet. The materials used are defined in specifications whose development required many years of experience (optimum thicknesses, metallurgical composition, ductility, etc.). The presses are set for total reproducibility while maintaining a high rate. Inspections at regular intervals of pressed plates are fundamental and lay the ground for the crucial step of brazing. Plates are inspected by a 3D CMM. Dye penetrant inspection is conducted to locate the smallest defects. We regularly select a unit at random from production and put it through a battery of yet more extensive tests, such as thermal shock tests, water hammer tests and freezing/thawing cycles. We use the results to monitor and continuously improve the quality of our heat exchangers. Brazing ensures protection against internal leakage. It requires precise control of temperature rise and fall cycles to ensure that the copper is melted completely and distributed to each contact point. Proper brazing ensures the strength, endurance and performance of your unit. The test chamber is the ultimate trial in our quality assurance process. Each exchanger is tested individually before being shipped to make sure it will operate reliably. Our people Last, but not least, the dedicated people at Thermofin are the true strength behind the quality and service we owe you.
