For the Autumn 2013 collection Kaviar Gauche designers, Alexandra Fischer-Roehler and Johanna Kühl, chose
to show in an iconic Paris fashion location, the Couvent
des Récollets. The intimate ambiance of the chapel, with
its copper floors and rouge noir exposed brick walls,
perfectly set the scene for the collection.

Inspiration lies in the contrasting aesthetics of nomadic
tribes and high culture. The Kaviar Gauche woman is
on a cultural journey gathering and layering the pieces
as she goes. She is the beloved Venus. The ultra woman but modernised in her metallics, lasered leather and
oversized silhouettes.
Kaviar Gauche has made its seasonal ode to contemporary femininity, which for the designers is always the
juxtaposition of contrasting elements: stylistically tough,
tailored silhouettes combined with sensuous, feminine
shapes.
Layers of silk tops, leather tunics and oversized drop
pocket tailoring are combined with flowing wing trousers
and floor length skirts. Belted faux fur gilets and jackets
in cotton candy colours envelope and embolden delicate
looks of marron noir and black leather lace.
The collection has proved an exercise in reigning in
the flamboyance of forms found in nature, embracing
petal patterns anew, transforming them into modern,
geometric stencils. Couture detailing and laser stencils
reference the decorative arts using the technique as appli-

MUNICH
The designer-duo behind KAVIAR GAUCHE,
Alexandra Fischer-Roehler and Johanna Kühl,
have opened their first KAVIAR GAUCHE store
in Munich.
In the 60 sqm store one finds not only the Prêt-à-Porter and
Accessories Collection but also KAVIAR GAUCHE’s Bridal
Couture line. The new store in Munich mirrors the design
concept of the Berlin Flagship Store and therefore opens a further door to the world of KAVIAR GAUCHE: blush-coloured
walls, ivory wooden floors and high ceilings. The com-plete
interior has been designed by the atelier of KAVIAR GAUCHE
and is heavily inspired by their Autumn Winter 2013/14
collection. Organic forms dominate the room, corners and
sharp edges have been avoided as far as possible. Instead, floral elements can be found to con-trast with the modern interior of the premises.
One highlight of the boutique, which also decorates the store
in Berlin, is the tree sculpture made of polished high-grade
steel. The sculpture is draped with elegant Bridal Couture
dresses like delicate leaves, ready for the Munich clients.

from 11.00 until 19.00 and Saturday from 11.00 until 18.00.

Right in the middle of the Berlin-Mitte district, Kaviar Gauche
has opened a little Vintage Boutique. The petite space impresses
like a treasure chest filled with jewels. It offers an exclusive
collection of pre-season, limited edition items, press samples and
one of a kind show pieces.
Besides the limited edition garments, there is also an exclusive
selection of accessories and shoes. Classic key pieces like the
Lamella bag in different colors from previous seasons and sizes,
deserve special attention. And of course, like the other pieces,
they are reasonably priced.
