Every day in Broward County, you are often "First There" to provide "First Care" to citizens and visitors who are sick or injured. For that, you deserve the sincere praises of the Broward County Community. The conference program this year is really “over the top!” Leading professionals in emergency medicine from around the United States, part of an elite group called “The Eagles,” will soar to new heights schooling you - the first level of patient care - in new and different methodologies of treatment. As an added bonus, a very special guest has been invited as the keynote speaker – Randolph “Randy” Mantooth, actor and star of the 1970’s hit television series “Emergency.” Mr. Mantooth will also be in attendance to sign autographs for those who gained interest in EMS after watching this program! The Achievement Awards presented during the conference are a wonderful way to recognize those who have provided exemplary service delivering pre-hospital emergency medical care: making Broward County a leader in emergency medical care in Florida. The conference planning committee, comprised of persons from each component of emergency medical care in Broward County, has once again accomplished its task in developing the best educational conference program for this, its 20th anniversary. Enjoy this wonderful event; and I look forward to seeing all of you at the 21st anniversary, May 2017. Best regards, Ralph A. Marrinson, Chair Broward Regional EMS Council 4 May 2, 2016 On behalf of the Fire Chiefs’ Association of Broward County (FCABC), it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the 20th Anniversary-First There, First Care Conference and Chief Michael Haygood Advanced Life Support EMS Competition. I commend each and every one of you for attending and taking this opportunity to advance your education. Each year, our emergency medical services face new and more challenging s i t u at i o n s which mandate our skills remain sharp, focused and innovative. This year’s lineup of speakers includes our special guest; Randolph Mantooth, actor and star of the 1970’s hit television series “Emergency”. He is joined by several prominent and renowned emergency medical physicians and conference speakers from across the country. As we are all aware the first and only contact your agency or department may ever have with a citizen or someone’s family member is you. Therefore, it is imperative to always deliver the highest level of competent and compassionate customer care. Your presence here today is indicative of a personal commitment to that goal. I want to thank the EMS conference committee for their many dedicated hours of work organizing this conference. The committee has done another terrific job putting together an outstanding and innovative program for us to enjoy. Please accept my thanks on behalf of the Fire Chiefs' Association membership in Broward County. Enjoy the conference and remember the impacts you make each a n d every day really do matter!
