PETER BALLANTYNE CREE NATION th Chief Joseph Custer Reserve - 2300 - 10 Avenue West P.O Box 2320, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada S6V 6Z1 Phone: (306) 765-5388 ∙ Fax: (306) 922-1450 URBAN OFFICE To: urban members From: Councillor warren mccallum Date: Thursday, November 21, 2013 Re: community report update Tansi, The past few months have been a great learning experience for me and quite an adjustment for my family. I knew going into this job it would not be easy and it hasn’t been. But, I have enjoyed getting to know so many more of you than I ever had before. I have also gone out and did the things I said I was going to do. But, more importantly, there is still so much more that needs to be done. With your continued support and patience, we can do greater things and help improve the lives of our urban members. I cannot do this alone and I want to thank the office staff and support network for all they have assisted me with and I thank the Elders whose guidance has been extremely important to me during this period. In this updated report you will find some information about what we have been doing and summaries of the funds we have been able to acquire and allocate to certain segments of our community for the benefit of all. I must mention that when I came into office in April 2013, the Urban Office had a debt of more than $25,000 plus an ongoing monthly $10,000 deficit that needed to be stopped or minimized. I am glad to report that those debts have now been retired and we are not accruing additional debts. We are improving the financial picture for our urban office and bills are being paid on time. In the future, I hope to start recording surpluses and even a rainy day fund for future use to the benefit of our people. I have included some recent photos of Urban Thanksgivings and some events I have participated in for your perusal. I have been busy being your representative and have worked hard and will continue to work hard on your behalf. I hope that you find some of the contents of this report to your satisfaction and if not, please feel free to contact me at the numbers listed above and I will do my best to accommodate you in however I can. Ninanaskimon. Tiniki. ______________________________________________ PBCN Urban Councillor Amisk Lake Deschambault Lake Ph: (306) 362-2490 632-4608 Fax: (306) 362-2490 632-4488 Kinoosao 758-3030 758-3030 Pelican Narrows 632-2125 632-2275 Prince Albert 953-4400 953-4420 Sandy Bay 754-2213 754-2255 Southend 758-2144 758-2188 Sturgeon Landing 688-2170 688-4646 PETER BALLANTYNE CREE NATION th Chief Joseph Custer Reserve - 2300 - 10 Avenue West P.O Box 2320, Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Canada S6V 6Z1 Phone: (306) 765-5388 ∙ Fax: (306) 922-1450 URBAN OFFICE PBCN Urban Fiscal Report Update, November 6th, 2013 This summary is an amended update from August 13th, 2013.
